Job Title: Purchase Executive - Electric Railway Sector

Location : Lucknow Department : Procurement / Supply Chain Reports To : Purchase Manager / Procurement Head

Job Summary : The Purchase Executive will be responsible for managing procurement activities related to electric railway projects, ensuring timely sourcing of materials, vendor coordination, cost control, and compliance with railway standards. The role involves handling RFQs, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring material availability for project execution.

Key Responsibilities :

- Handle procurement of materials related to electric railway systems such as cables, transformers, switchgear, insulators, OHE components, and electrical equipment.
- Identify and evaluate vendors in compliance with railway and industry standards.
- Prepare and process RFQs (Request for Quotation) and analyze vendor quotations.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers.
- Generate and track Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with engineering, project, and site teams to understand material requirements.
- Maintain supplier database and develop alternative sourcing options.
- Ensure compliance with Indian Railways / RDSO specifications where applicable.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores for material planning.




- Track procurement budgets and support cost reduction initiatives.
- Resolve supply issues, delays, and quality concerns with vendors.
- Maintain procurement documentation and reports.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce or related field.
- 3-6 years of procurement experience in railway electrification, infrastructure, EPC, or electrical equipment industry .

Required Skills :

- Knowledge of electric railway components and procurement processes .
- Familiarity with Indian Railways / RDSO standards (preferred).
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Valuable understanding of supply chain and inventory management .
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel .
- Strong communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in Railway Electrification (OHE), traction systems, or railway EPC projects .
- Experience working with railway-approved vendors .

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
