Job Overview

Zennara Clinics is looking for a skilled Phlebotomist with solid IV cannulation skills who will be responsible for drawing blood samples and administering IV drips safely and efficiently.

The role requires strict adherence to hygiene, patient safety, and clinical protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Blood Collection & Phlebotomy

- Perform blood sample collection from patients using correct phlebotomy techniques.
- Ensure accurate patient identification before collecting samples .
- Maintain proper labeling, handling, and storage of collected samples .
- Ensure samples are sent to diagnostic labs in a timely and proper manner.
- Follow all infection control and sterilization protocols during procedures.

2. IV Cannulation & Drip Administration

- Administer IV drips and fluids as prescribed by doctors .
- Identify veins properly and perform smooth IV cannulation with mínimal discomfort to the client .
- Ensure correct insertion of IV line on the first attempt whenever possible , avoiding repeated pricks.
- Prevent complications such as swelling, bruising, infiltration, or pain during IV administration .
- Monitor clients during IV therapy and report any adverse reactions immediately.
- Ensure proper removal and disposal of IV cannula after treatment .

3. Patient Care & Comfort

- Explain procedures to patients and ensure they feel comfortable during blood draw or IV administration.
- Maintain a calm, professional, and reassuring approach with clients .
- Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times during procedures .

4. Hygiene & Safety Compliance

- Follow strict aseptic and sterilization protocols .
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste, needles, and sharps as per safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of the procedure area and equipment .
- Use gloves, disinfectants, and other protective equipment as required .

Equipment & Inventory Handling

- Ensure availability of phlebotomy and IV supplies such as syringes, vacutainers, cannulas, gloves, and drips.
- Maintain proper storage and handling of medical consumables .
- Inform management in advance about low stock of consumables .

6. Documentation & Coordination

- Maintain accurate records of blood samples collected and IV drips administered .
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and clinic staff for smooth patient management.
- Follow clinic protocols for documentation and reporting .

Skills & Competencies Required

- Strong vein identification and cannulation skills .
- Ability to perform phlebotomy smoothly with mínimal discomfort to patients .
- Knowledge of IV drip administration and monitoring .
- Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols .
- Good communication and patient handling skills .
- Ability to work in a clinical environment with attention to safety and hygiene .

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma / Certification in Phlebotomy / Medical Laboratory Technology / Nursing or related field.
- Minimum 3 - 6 years of experience in blood collection and IV administration .
- Experience in clinics, hospitals, or diagnostic centers preferred.

Accountability Expectations

The Phlebotomist is accountable for:

- Ensuring safe and hygienic blood collection and IV procedures .
- Performing accurate cannulation without repeated pricks or complications .
- Maintaining patient comfort, safety, and professional conduct .
- Following clinic protocols and medical safety standards .

The role may require travel to other clinic locations or external facilities as and when required.

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
