Key Roles & Responsibilities of a Product Merchandiser

1. Product Planning: Plan product categories, styles, colours, sizes, and quantities based on market trends and customer demand.
2. Stock Allocation: Ensure the right products and sizes are allocated to different retail stores based on sales performance and demand.
3. Inventory Management: Monitor stock availability, slow-moving products, fast-selling items, and stock-outs.
4. Sales Analysis: Analyse sales reports to identify best-selling and non-performing products.
5. Trend Analysis: Study market trends, customer preferences, competitors, and seasonal demand.
6. Coordination: Coordinate with design, purchase, production, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure timely product availability.
7. Dispatch & Replenishment: Track product dispatches and arrange stock replenishment for stores when required.
8. Product Performance: Recommend markdowns, promotions, or stock transfers for slow-moving inventory.
9. MIS & Reporting: Prepare reports on stock, sales, product performance, and inventory ageing.
10. Seasonal Planning: Support planning for recent collections, festivals, and seasonal sales.
