Job Description: Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

Client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Engineer with over 10 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting. The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in Microsoft Project and Power BI, along with a valid PMP certification. The role involves managing project schedules, tracking progress, analyzing project performance, identifying risks, and providing data-driven insights to support timely project execution and management decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules, milestones, and work breakdown structures using Microsoft Project.
- Prepare project plans, resource allocation plans, baseline schedules, and critical path analyses.
- Track project progress against approved schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor project KPIs, progress, resource utilization, schedule variance, and overall project performance.
- Consolidate project data from multiple sources and provide actionable insights to project managers and senior management.
- Identify potential project risks, delays, bottlenecks, and dependencies, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct schedule variance analysis, earned value analysis (EVM), and project performance reporting.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production, quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and management-level project progress reports.
- Facilitate project review meetings and communicate project status, issues, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, quality standards, company procedures, and contractual requirements.




- Support continuous improvement initiatives in project planning, reporting automation, and project control processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in project engineering, project planning, project controls, or project management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project, including scheduling, resource loading, critical path analysis, baselining, and progress tracking.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, DAX measures, Power Query, and KPI reporting.
- PMP certification from PMI is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, project lifecycle, risk management, and schedule control.
- Experience in project performance measurement, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other project reporting tools.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial equipment, aerospace, or other project-driven engineering environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and integration of project data from multiple sources.
- Knowledge of earned value management, resource optimization, and project recovery planning.
- Experience in automating project reporting and building executive-level dashboards.
