The Senior Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing complex electrical systems, machinery, and electronic controls. This role combines advanced technical hands-on expertise with supervisory responsibility, ensuring all electrical work complies with regulatory codes and safety standards while providing mentorship to junior electricians. Core ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Maintenance Operations:

- System Installation: Install, test, and commission electrical systems, wiring, conduits, control panels, and light fixtures in accordance with blueprints and technical drawings.
- Preventive Maintenance: Design and execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and ensure system reliability.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex electrical faults, malfunctions, and breakdowns using specialized testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
- Repairs & Upgrades: Repair or replace defective wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Upgrade outdated electrical infrastructure to improve energy efficiency.

Safety, Compliance & Quality Control:

- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all electrical installations strictly comply with National Electrical Codes (NEC) and local regulatory standards.
- Safety Enforcement: Maintain a zero-accident workplace by enforcing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work performed by the electrical team to guarantee compliance with company standards and engineering specifications.





Leadership & Project Management:

- Team Supervision: Guide, mentor, and supervise junior electricians, apprentices, and technicians on-site.
- Project Coordination: Estimate material, time, and labor costs for electrical projects. Coordinate workflows with construction managers, contractors, and engineering teams.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory logs of electrical supplies, tools, and equipment, initiating purchase requests when stock is low.

Required Knowledge & Skillset

- Technical Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, architectural layouts, and circuit diagrams.
- Tool Competency: Expert-level mastery of commercial hand tools, conduit benders, digital testers, and programming tools for automated systems (PLCs).
- Analytical Skills: Strong diagnostic abilities to isolate problems quickly under pressure in rapid-paced production or construction environments.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and write incident reports.

Qualifications & Experience

- Experience: Minimum of 57 years of proven experience working as a commercial or industrial electrician.
- Certification: Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License is highly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or ITI / Vocational diploma in Electrical Trade; completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship program.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights (ladders/scaffolding), and operate in confined spaces.
