Mandatory Requirements & Prerequisites

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on expertise in structural fabrication and sheet metal product design. The candidate will be responsible for taking projects from initial concept to actual final product, including in office measurement, 3D modeling, detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, and coordinating with the shop floor fabrication team.

Fabrication Experience

Minimum 2-5 years of proven experience in Fabrication, Structural Weldments, and Sheet Metal design.

Vehicle & License

Must hold a valid Driving License and have own Vehicle for mandatory site visits and site measurement tasks.

Laptop

Key Responsibilities

Must have own Laptop suitable for running 2D/3D CAD software.

Site Survey & Measurement

Travel to client/project sites to take accurate physical dimensions, assess site conditions, and collect layout requirements.

Concept to Product Design

Convert client ideas, sketches, and site measurements into practical 3D CAD models and manufacturable products.

Travel Flexibility

Willingness to visit local and outstation project sites whenever required for site surveys.

Weldment & Structural Design

Design heavy and light structural weldments,



frames, supports, and enclosures tailored for fabrication.

Sheet Metal 2D & 3D Drafting

Prepare precise 3D sheet metal designs and 2D detailed manufacturing drawings (flat pattern, bend allowance, laser cutting DXF/DWG, welding symbols, and BOM).

Education

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

CAD Software

Strong command over SolidWorks (Sheet Metal & Weldment modules) and AutoCAD (2D Detail Drawings).

Manufacturing Knowledge

In-depth understanding of fabrication processes (bending, welding, laser cutting, punching, machining, and assembly fitments).

Fabrication Support

Coordinate directly with shop-floor welders, fabricators, and machine operators to ensure design accuracy during production.

Quality & Fitment Check

Verify manufactured parts against design specifications and resolve any on-site or shop-floor assembly issues.

Measurement Tools

Proficiency in using measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, micrometer, measuring tape) during site visits.
