· LinkedIn Role Overview The Product Marketing Manager owns the conversion funnel across Foodstories’ app and website — from the moment a visitor lands to the moment they complete a purchase, and every touchpoint in between. This is a numbers-first role. You will be measured on visitor-to-buyer conversion rate, average order value, revenue per session, and category-level contribution. While you will manage the full online merchandising stack — catalog, product pages, collections, platform listings — the lens is always commercial: every product placement, page layout, and promotional decision is evaluated by its measurable impact on purchase behaviour. You will sit at the intersection of product, growth, and operations, using data from analytics, A/B tests, and funnel instrumentation to make merchandising decisions that move revenue. The ideal candidate thinks in funnels, speaks in conversion rates, and treats the product catalog as a growth lever, not a content management task.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conversion Funnel Ownership
• Own the end-to-end visitor-to-buyer conversion rate across app and web; set targets, track daily, and run experiments to move the number.
• Map the full purchase funnel — landing, browse, search, product page, add-to-cart, checkout, payment — and identify the highest-leverage drop-off points.
• Design and run A/B tests on product pages, collection layouts, search ranking, and checkout flow to validate what lifts conversion.
• Build and maintain a weekly conversion dashboard segmented by channel, category, device, and cohort.
• Set up event tracking and funnel instrumentation with analytics and engineering to ensure every decision is backed by data. 2. Product Page & Catalog Optimization
• Manage all product listings across the Foodstories app, website,
and third-party platforms (Swiggy, Zomato, and other marketplaces).
• Treat every product page as a conversion asset: optimize titles, descriptions, imagery, pricing display, reviews, and social proof to maximize add-to-cart rate.
• Run regular catalog audits — not just for accuracy, but for conversion impact: which pages underperform their traffic, which categories have high bounce, where does search intent go unmatched.
• Coordinate new product launches, seasonal updates, and discontinuations with a clear pre/post launch measurement plan.
• Ensure product information, pricing, and availability are accurate and consistent across every channel. 3. Merchandising for Revenue
• Own product placement, category structure, homepage real estate, and collection sequencing — decided by conversion and revenue data, not intuition.
• Position best-sellers, high-margin products, and seasonal lines where they will be seen and bought.
• Design and test bundles, cross-sells, add-ons, and recommendation strategies to increase average order value.
• Optimise search and navigation to shorten the path from intent to purchase.
• Recommend changes to product photography, descriptions, and page layout based on heatmaps, scroll depth, and click-through data. 4. Platform Performance Management
• Manage product listings and menu structures across Swiggy, Zomato, the Foodstories website, and any future marketplace channels.
• Track platform-level conversion rates, order volumes, and revenue contribution; identify underperforming platforms and fix them.
• Coordinate with platform account managers to resolve listing issues, negotiate visibility, and execute promotions.
• Monitor product availability, pricing accuracy, and operating hours; ensure promotions and offers are correctly reflected.
• Own the relationship between online availability and actual store/warehouse inventory so out-of-stock rates stay low. 5. Promotions & Campaign Execution
• Plan and execute online promotions, seasonal campaigns, and product launches with clear revenue and conversion targets attached to each.
• Ensure promotional pricing, banners, and product information are updated accurately and on time across all channels.
• Work with marketing and design to develop campaign merchandising — landing pages, curated collections, hero placements — that drive measurable lift.
• Run post-campaign analysis: what converted, what didn’t, what to repeat. Build a playbook over time.
• Support festive, gifting, and new-launch initiatives with a commercial lens. 6.
Analytics, Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination
• Track and report on conversion rate, AOV, revenue per session, category contribution, product-level sell-through, and cart abandonment.
• Identify best-sellers and underperformers; recommend actions (reprice, reposition, rebundle, delist) with data backing.
• Analyse trends in customer preferences, ordering patterns, and demand signals to inform buying and merchandising decisions.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for leadership.
• Work closely with operations, supply chain, marketing, design, and store teams to keep online information accurate and aligned with ground reality.
• Coordinate product photography, content creation, and catalog updates; maintain trackers for all pending changes. Candidate Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, E-commerce, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in product marketing, e-commerce, online merchandising, or growth/conversion roles — ideally with ownership of a conversion metric.
• Experience in food delivery, D2C, QSR, retail, FMCG, or food & beverage brands preferred.
• Solid command of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, CleverTap, or similar); comfortable building dashboards and reading funnel data.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for analysis and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with A/B testing tools and frameworks.
• Robust understanding of online consumer journeys, product page optimization, and marketplace dynamics.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple platforms and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Skills
• Conversion rate optimization & funnel analysis
• Product page optimization & A/B testing
• E-commerce catalog & online merchandising
• Revenue-driven product placement & bundling
• Analytics, dashboarding & performance reporting
• Marketplace & platform management (Swiggy, Zomato, own channels)
• Promotion planning & campaign measurement
• Cross-functional stakeholder coordination
• Problem-solving and fast execution Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who sees the product catalog as a revenue engine, not a listing to maintain. The ideal candidate starts every conversation with a number conversion rate, AOV, revenue per session and works backwards from that number to the merchandising decision. You are proactive, analytically rigorous, and commercially minded. You can look at a product page and see a funnel; look at a category layout and see unrealised revenue; look at a promotion and ask what it actually converted. You are comfortable working across teams ops, design, marketing, supply chain and can translate data into action. You take ownership of the online storefront as if it were your own shop floor, and you know that in digital, every pixel is a merchandising decision.
