About Us
MEAtec is a fast-growing deep tech company developing AI-driven battery analytics, digital battery passport solutions, second-life decision-making tools, lifecycle management platforms, and edge-to-cloud BMS technologies for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. With a strong focus on sustainability and the circular economy, we collaborate with leading academics, industry partners, and international organizations to advance battery intelligence and next-generation mobility across Europe and beyond. Position Overview: We are looking for an Embedded Cybersecurity Software Engineer to design, implement, and support the security architecture and defensive capabilities for our AI-powered Battery Management System (AIBMS) platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop embedded cybersecurity software and maintain architecture and validation documentation in line with ISO/SAE 21434.
• Secure UDS diagnostics (0x27/0x29) and supplier/debug access with authentication, role-based permissions, session controls, and audit logging.
• Protect firmware with secure boot, signed OTA updates, anti-rollback, flash controls, HSM-backed keys, and tamper alerts.
• Secure in-vehicle communications with SecOC/E2E integrity, signed messages, replay protection, and heartbeat monitoring.
• Implement secure, timestamped, encrypted logs with integrity and access controls; monitor watchdog/DTC and anomaly events, and raise alerts.
• Verify and harden code through MISRA/CERT/CWE practices, static/dynamic analysis, fuzz testing, penetration testing, and vulnerability remediation.
Qualifications:
• 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in C-based embedded software engineering.
• Practical background with Unified Diagnostic Services (ISO 14229), specifically regarding security-focused capabilities such as 0x27 and 0x29.
• Hands-on experience with secure boot, signed or authenticated firmware and OTA updates, downgrade prevention, and HSM-backed key and credential management.
• Practical experience with cryptographic methods, including symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, hashing, message authentication codes, and digital signatures; familiarity with PKI is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with CAN, CAN FD, and LIN; familiarity with SecOC, secure logging, onboard intrusion monitoring, or security diagnostics
• Practical experience with automotive microcontrollers and hardware security features such as HSM/SHE/OTP, secure key storage, and anti-tamper measures is an advantage; TI automotive MCUs are a plus.
• Familiarity with MISRA C (including applicable amendments), CERT C, CWE mitigation, static and dynamic analysis, and secure memory and boundary handling is an advantage.
• Demonstrated interest in battery technologies, energy storage systems, or electric mobility solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C1 level or higher).
What We Offer
• Be part of a fast-paced, innovative team developing cutting-edge solutions
• Opportunities to work on impactful projects that drive innovation.
• Continuous learning and career development.
