Role Description The Ophthalmologist will provide comprehensive clinical and surgical eye care, including outpatient consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and follow-up management for a wide range of ocular conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing cataract and refractive surgeries, managing retinal diseases, glaucoma, pediatric eye conditions, ocular emergencies, and overseeing specialized clinics such as myopia, dry eye, and contact lens services. The role involves interpreting diagnostic tests, collaborating with optometrists and other clinical staff, counseling patients and families on treatment options, and maintaining thorough medical records.

The Ophthalmologist will also participate in quality improvement initiatives,



adopt new technologies and techniques, and contribute to patient education. This is a full-time, in office role based at Dr.

Anil Kulkarni Eye

Hospital in Chiplun.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in clinical Medicine relevant to eye care, including diagnosis and management of systemic conditions with ocular involvement.
- Applied Optometry skills for refraction, contact lens assessment, and coordination with optometrists in prescribing visual aids.
- Advanced Ophthalmology expertise in medical and surgical management of cataract, refractive errors, glaucoma, retinal diseases, pediatric eye conditions, and ocular trauma.
- Proficiency in Laser procedures such as YAG capsulotomy, laser iridotomy, and retinal laser treatments, with focus on safety and precision.
- Competence in ocular Surgery, including phacoemulsification, refractive surgery, minor procedures, and emergency interventions.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MS/DOMS/DNB or equivalent) and valid medical registration.
- Experience in a high-volume ophthalmic practice or hospital setting; prior exposure to image-guided cataract or advanced retinal care is an advantage.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication and counseling skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
