VirtualMaze is looking for a Data QC Engineer with strong GIS expertise and knowledge of map-based application development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in GIS data validation and processing, along with knowledge of JavaScript, Python, backend APIs, and databases.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform quality checks on GIS datasets using ArcGIS Pro / ArcMap.
- Validate spatial accuracy, topology, geometry, and attribute data.
- Review and correct road networks, POIs, buildings, land use, and other map features.
- Process GIS data, including validation, editing, mutations, and error correction.
- Support the development and validation of map-based applications.
- Work with backend APIs and databases used in GIS and mapping applications.
- Verify coordinate systems, projections, and georeferenced datasets.
- Identify data defects, document QC findings, and coordinate corrections.
- Ensure datasets meet client specifications and internal quality standards.
- Collaborate with GIS production, development, and mapping teams.

Required Skills




- 2–3 years of experience in GIS Data QC or geospatial projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap.
- Strong knowledge of GIS data and map-based applications.
- Knowledge of JavaScript and Python.
- Knowledge of implementing and working with backend APIs.
- Database knowledge and experience handling GIS-related data.
- Knowledge of topology, spatial editing, projections, and coordinate systems.
- Experience with Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, File Geodatabase, and Raster/Vector data.
- Good understanding of OpenStreetMap (OSM) data structure and map validation.
- Ability to analyze, identify, and resolve spatial and attribute errors.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Good to Have
- QGIS knowledge.
- PostGIS / SQL knowledge.
- Python (ArcPy) exposure.
- Experience in navigation, digital mapping, or GIS application development.
- Experience with GIS data processing workflows and API integration.
