About the Role

Our client, a cloud-based accounting platform built for Canadian CPA firms, is hiring a Senior Accountant. This is a senior individual contributor role. You will own a portfolio of Canadian client files end to end, working directly with Canadian CPA firm partners and their clients across multiple provinces.

This is a Canadian compliance role, not a general accounting role.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (aligned to the Canadian business day)

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare Notice to Reader and Review Engagement financial statements for Canadian private corporations (CSRS 4200 / 2400)
- Prepare T2 corporate tax returns with all relevant schedules, applying CCPC rules: Small Business Deduction, CCA, SR&ED; and capital gains
- Handle multi-province tax compliance (Ontario, BC, Alberta and others), including HST/GST/PST filings
- Process or review Canadian payroll: T4s, ROEs, remittances and CRA payroll accounts
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero, keeping files audit-ready




- Flag tax planning opportunities and CRA issues proactively, and liaise with Canadian partners to close files on time

Must-Haves

- CA (India) from ICAI, active or recently completed
- 3–7 years of demonstrable hands-on Canadian accounting experience (T2, NTR/Review Engagement, full-cycle bookkeeping)
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act: CCPC provisions, CCA, capital gains, SR&ED; basics
- Extensive, practical QuickBooks Online experience
- Multi-province experience (Ontario, BC and Alberta at minimum)
- Solid written English for direct communication with Canadian CPA partners

Preferred

- QBO ProAdvisor and/or Xero Advisor certification
- Experience with TaxCycle, Profile or DT Tax
- Xero experience
- CPA (Canada) completed or in progress
- Prior experience servicing Canadian public accounting clients
- HST audit defense or CRA correspondence experience
