Job Description – Store Assistant (Construction Company)

Job Summary

The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting daily store operations at construction sites, including receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining construction materials, tools, and equipment while ensuring proper stock control and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Material Receipt: Receive construction materials, verify quantities against purchase orders and delivery challans, and check for damages or discrepancies.
Material Issuance: Issue materials to site engineers, supervisors, and authorized personnel based on approved material requests.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock records, update inward and outward registers, and monitor stock levels.
Documentation: Maintain GRNs, material issue slips, stock registers, delivery challans, and other store-related documents.
Stock Verification: Conduct regular physical stock checks and report shortages, excess stock, damaged materials, or discrepancies to the Store In-Charge.
Storage and Safety: Ensure proper storage, identification,



and protected handling of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Material Coordination: Coordinate with the Purchase Department, Site Engineers, suppliers, and transport personnel regarding material deliveries and requirements.
Housekeeping: Keep the store area clean, organized, and accessible, ensuring materials are properly stacked and stored.
Tools and Equipment: Maintain records of tools and equipment issued and returned by site personnel.
Reporting: Prepare daily or periodic material stock reports and submit them to the Store In-Charge.
Loss Prevention: Help prevent material wastage, misuse, and unauthorized issuance.
Other Duties: Perform additional store-related activities assigned by the reporting manager.

Qualification and Experience
Qualification: 12th Pass / ITI / Diploma in any relevant discipline.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in stores, preferably in a construction company or construction site.
Basic knowledge of construction materials and inventory management is preferred.
Basic computer knowledge.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
