Job Description: Commis 2 – Indian Cuisine

We are looking for a Commis 2 – Indian Cuisine who has basic knowledge of Indian cooking and is eager to develop their culinary skills in a qualified hospitality kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Indian Chef in daily food preparation and service.
Complete mise en place for Indian cuisine items before service.
Assist in preparing Indian gravies, curries, dal, vegetables, rice, and other Indian dishes.
Assist in preparing basic masalas, pastes, marinades, and gravies.
Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and preparation methods.
Maintain consistency in taste, texture, quality, and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the Indian kitchen workstation.
Follow food safety and kitchen safety procedures.
Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of ingredients.
Support the kitchen team during peak service hours.
Control food wastage and ensure proper utilization of ingredients.
Follow instructions from the Chef / Reporting Manager.

Candidate Profile
Experience:



0–2 years in a hotel/restaurant kitchen preferred.
Basic knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques.
Knowledge of preparing gravies, curries, dal, vegetables, rice, and basic Indian dishes will be an advantage.
Good kitchen hygiene and food safety awareness.
Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours.
Valuable teamwork and communication skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Punctual, disciplined, and professionally groomed.
