Job title: Business Development Manager, Steel Sales (T1S)

About the role

We are hiring Business Development Managers to own the Sales seat in their assigned state. You will run a disciplined beat plan across SMB customers, convert chance into invoiced volume, move eligible customers onto Channel Financing, and win new accounts in our focus segments.

What you will do
Build and run a monthly beat plan for your market, with visit and call frequency set by customer priority tier.
Re-sequence the plan around live opportunities and customer response instead of working it mechanically.
Pitch every account using our segment-focus, supply-led approach, built on HR steel consumption by segment and SKU-level enquiry history.
Generate opportunities and take them through to invoiced orders. You own the volume (MT) number for your market.




Assess each customer’s potential against Channel Financing eligibility, and drive cash-to-credit conversion.
Find and win new customers outside your assigned base, within the same focus segments.
Work with the credit, logistics and pricing teams to close the approvals your customers are waiting on.
Log every visit, call and opportunity update in CRM (SFDC) on the day it happens.

What we are looking for
Education: B.Tech (Mechanical or Metallurgy preferred).
Experience: minimum 3 years in direct steel sales, with HRC or flat products, ideally selling to SMBs, dealers, distributors or fabricators.
Proven delivery against a volume (MT) target.
Solid market and product knowledge, planning discipline, and the ability to influence internal teams.
Exposure to credit sales or channel financing, and recent-customer acquisition, is a plus.
Comfortable with CRM. Daily logging is a condition of the role, not a best practice.
Based in, or willing to relocate to, one of the four states above.
