Prepare nesting layouts for sheet metal plates and structural components.
Generate CNC cutting programs for Laser, Plasma and Oxy-Fuel cutting machines.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD drawings and fabrication drawings.
Optimize material utilization and minimize scrap and material wastage.
Work with CAD/CAM nesting software such as SigmaNEST, Lantek, ProNest, Metalix or equivalent.
Understand DXF, DWG and other production file formats.
Verify plate thickness, material grade, dimensions, cutting sequence and tolerances.
Coordinate with Design, Production, Planning and Quality departments.
Ensure correct part identification, marking and traceability.
Resolve cutting program errors and support production troubleshooting.
Maintain nesting reports, material consumption records and scrap reports.
Follow OEM quality standards, production schedules and safety procedures.
