1. Job Purpose

To supervise and control daily compounding operations, ensuring accurate raw material weighing, proper mixing, adherence to approved compound formulations, consistent product quality, and achievement of production targets while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production & Process Supervision

- Supervise day-to-day compounding and mixing operations as per the production plan.
- Ensure proper operation of mixers, mills, weighing systems, and related equipment.
- Monitor batch preparation, mixing cycles, temperature, mixing time, and other process parameters.
- Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality and safety.

B. Raw Material & Batch Control

- Ensure accurate weighing and dispensing of raw materials according to approved formulations.
- Verify material identification, batch numbers, and material traceability.
- Prevent material mix-ups, contamination, and incorrect dosing.
- Maintain records of material consumption, batch quantities, and production output.
- Coordinate with stores for timely availability of raw materials.

C. Quality Control

- Ensure compliance with approved formulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
- Coordinate sampling and testing of compounds as required.
- Ensure non-conforming batches are identified, segregated, and reported.

D. Manpower Management

- Allocate duties to operators and helpers based on production requirements.
- Monitor employee attendance, discipline, productivity, and work performance.
- Train employees on compounding procedures, safe material handling, and equipment operation.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability for each shift.




- Promote teamwork and maintain discipline within the department.

E. Equipment Maintenance & Safety

- Ensure routine inspection and proper cleaning of compounding equipment.
- Report equipment breakdowns and coordinate with the Maintenance Department.
- Ensure compliance with PPE requirements, machine safety procedures, and material-handling practices.
- Maintain good housekeeping and prevent material spills and workplace hazards.
- Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents promptly.

F. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain batch cards, production reports, material consumption records, and shift handover reports.
- Record production quantities, rejection levels, downtime, and process deviations.
- Ensure proper identification, labelling, and storage of compounded materials.
- Submit daily production and manpower reports to the Production Manager.
- Support internal audits, quality audits, and process improvement activities.

3. Educational Qualification

- B.Tech,Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer Technology, Rubber Technology, or a related technical field.
- Candidates with relevant practical experience in rubber compounding may also be considered.

4. Experience

- Minimum 0–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or compounding environment.
- Experience in rubber compounding, rubber mixing, or rubber product manufacturing is preferred.
- Previous experience handling a production team is desirable.

- Knowledge of compounding processes, raw materials, and batch preparation.
- Ability to read and follow compound formulations and production instructions.
- Knowledge of weighing, mixing, batch control, and material traceability.
- Understanding of quality control procedures and production documentation.
- Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and workplace safety.
- Good supervisory, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills for production reporting and ERP entries.

- Achievement of daily and monthly production targets.
- Batch accuracy and compliance with approved formulations.
- Reduction in material wastage and batch rejection.
- Compliance with quality standards and process parameters.
- Equipment downtime and production efficiency.
- Manpower productivity and attendance discipline.
- Compliance with safety, housekeeping, and documentation requirements.
