Job Summary

G.D. Goenka Public School, Kolkata, is seeking a qualified and experienced Physical Education (PE) Teacher to promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and the overall physical development of students. The candidate must possess an M.P.Ed. qualification and have the ability to conduct structured physical education classes, organise sporting activities, and coordinate school sports events and competitions.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct physical education classes for students across different age groups.
- Plan and implement structured physical fitness programmes, exercises, drills, and sports activities.
- Teach students the fundamentals of various sports, physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Organise and coordinate annual sports events, inter-house competitions, inter-school tournaments, and other sporting programmes.
- Assess students' physical fitness, sporting abilities, and progress.
- Identify students with sporting potential and guide them towards further development.
- Supervise students during physical education classes, practice sessions, and sporting events.
- Ensure the safe use, proper maintenance, and management of sports equipment and facilities.
- Maintain discipline and ensure student safety during all physical activities.
- Coordinate with the school administration and other teachers for the planning and execution of sports programmes.
- Maintain relevant records of students' participation, performance,



and sporting achievements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- M.P.Ed. (Master of Physical Education) is mandatory.
- Prior experience as a Physical Education Teacher in a school or educational institution is preferred.
- Experience in organising school sports events, inter-house competitions, and inter-school tournaments will be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of physical fitness, sports training, injury prevention, and student safety is essential.
- The ability to manage students across different age groups and conduct structured physical education sessions is required.
