About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Testing Engineer with hands-on experience in manual and automated testing of web applications. Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and end-to-end online shopping workflows is essential.

You will work closely with our engineering and product teams to ensure the functionality, reliability, performance, usability, and security of our integrated D2C commerce platform, Commerzio.

Our technology stack includes Next.js (React), Django REST Framework, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on product requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Perform functional, integration, system, end-to-end, smoke, sanity, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Test eCommerce journeys, including product discovery, search, filters, product pages, pricing, promotions, coupons, cart, checkout, payments, and order tracking.
- Validate backend workflows such as catalogue management, inventory updates, order processing, cancellations, returns, and refunds.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools, particularly for critical customer journeys and regression testing.
- Test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools, including authentication, validations, error handling, and data accuracy.
- Validate database records and data flow between the frontend, APIs, PostgreSQL database, and third-party integrations.
- Test integrations such as payment gateways,



logistics services, CRM systems, and customer notifications.
- Perform cross-browser, responsive, and cross-device testing.
- Conduct performance and basic load testing to identify slow pages, API bottlenecks, and failures under concurrent usage.
- Check role-based access, permissions, session behaviour, and basic application security.
- Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects using Jira or similar tools; verify fixes and assess their impact on related features.
- Support user acceptance testing and release validation, and maintain test documentation and QA checklists.

Required Skills & Experience

- 1–2 years of professional experience in software testing or quality assurance for web applications.
- Working familiarity with eCommerce platforms, including storefront and administrative workflows.
- Strong understanding of manual testing methods, the software development lifecycle, and the defect lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with at least one test automation framework, such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Basic programming or scripting skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python for test automation.
- Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or an equivalent tool.




- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation; PostgreSQL experience is preferred.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browser developer tools, and frontend/backend interactions.
- Ability to test edge cases, negative scenarios, and failures across connected workflows.
- Transparent bug reporting, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently on assigned testing tasks.

Good to Have

- Experience testing SaaS, D2C, multi-store, or omnichannel commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with React/Next.js and Django REST Framework applications.
- Exposure to JMeter, k6, Locust, or similar performance testing tools.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Git and AWS deployment environments.
- Exposure to accessibility testing and web security fundamentals.
- Experience testing payment failures, duplicate transactions, stock mismatches, coupon rules, and refund reconciliation.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

This is a full-time role for candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience, not an internship.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
