Job Description: Production Executive, SAW Flux & Electrodes

Job Purpose

Plan and control daily production of submerged arc welding (SAW) fluxes, ensuring targets, quality, safety and cost control as per AWS and EN/ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute daily, weekly and monthly flux production as per orders and schedule.
- Supervise the process: batching, mixing with binder, granulation, drying, baking, crushing, sieving, blending and packing.
- Ensure adherence to approved formulations, batch cards and process parameters (temperature, binder ratio, mixing time).
- Control granule size, moisture and bulk density, and prevent cross-contamination between flux grades.
- Coordinate with QC/QA for in-process checks, batch release, traceability and customer or third-party audits.
- Coordinate with stores and purchase on raw materials (fluorspar, alumina, silica, rutile, manganese oxide, magnesia, etc.) and track yield and wastage.




- Coordinate preventive maintenance of mixers, kilns, dryers, crushers, screens and packing machines.
- Enforce safety, PPE, dust control and 5S on the shop floor.
- Supervise and train operators and helpers, and maintain shift discipline.
- Prepare daily and monthly MIS reports on production, yield, rejection and downtime.

Qualifications and Experience

- B.E./B.Tech (Chemical/Metallurgical/Mechanical) or B.Sc./M.Sc. (Chemistry); Diploma holders with relevant experience may apply.
- 2-5 years in production in welding consumables, preferably SAW flux or electrodes.

Skills

- Knowledge of SAW flux types, AWS A5.17/A5.23 and EN ISO 14174 classifications.
- Understanding of flux chemistry, basicity and hydrogen control.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, 5S and ERP/SAP; MS Office.
- Leadership, problem-solving and ability to work in shifts.
