1. Key Responsibilities

A. HVAC Design

- Design HVAC systems for commercial buildings, residential developments, institutional facilities, and other building projects.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations and estimate equipment capacities.
- Design and develop HVAC layouts, ducting layouts, chilled water piping layouts, and equipment room layouts.
- Select HVAC equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation fans, and exhaust systems, as applicable.
- Prepare duct sizing, chilled water pipe sizing, and ventilation calculations.
- Design fresh air, exhaust, and smoke management systems in coordination with applicable project requirements.
- Prepare HVAC schematics, equipment schedules, technical specifications, and BOQs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ASHRAE, NBC, ISHRAE, and other relevant standards.

B. Plumbing and Public Health Engineering

- Design domestic water supply, hot water supply, and water distribution systems.
- Design soil, waste, and vent piping systems, including drainage and stormwater systems.
- Perform water demand calculations, storage tank sizing, pump sizing, and pipe sizing.
- Prepare plumbing layouts, riser diagrams, drainage schematics, and pump room layouts.
- Design plumbing systems for toilets, kitchens, utility areas, and other building facilities.
- Coordinate sewage treatment plant (STP), water treatment plant (WTP), rainwater harvesting, and other water management requirements, as applicable.
- Prepare plumbing equipment schedules, technical specifications, and BOQs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable NBC, CPHEEO, IS codes,



and local authority requirements.

C. Drawings and Technical Documentation

- Prepare detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
- Develop design calculations, equipment schedules, technical reports, and tender documentation.
- Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications.
- Incorporate client comments and update drawings within agreed project timelines.

D. Multidisciplinary Coordination

- Coordinate with Architecture, Structural, Electrical, Fire Protection, and other engineering teams.
- Resolve service routing conflicts and interdisciplinary design clashes.
- Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions.
- Support project managers and senior engineers in delivering projects within stipulated schedules and quality standards.

3. Required Skills and Competencies

- Strong working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing design for building services.
- Hands-on experience in HVAC load calculations, duct sizing, and equipment selection.
- Knowledge of water supply, drainage, stormwater, and plumbing system design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit MEP is preferred.




- Familiarity with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and design practices.
- Ability to prepare technical calculations, detailed drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.

4. Educational Qualification and Experience

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in an MEP consultancy or building services design organization.
- Practical experience in both HVAC and plumbing design is essential.
- Experience in commercial, residential, institutional, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Candidates who can join immediately or within 15 days will be given preference.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Accuracy of HVAC and plumbing design calculations.
- Quality and timely submission of drawings and technical deliverables.
- Compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
- Effective coordination and timely resolution of design clashes.
- Timely incorporation of client and consultant comments.
- Reduction of design errors and avoidable drawing revisions.
