About the Company

[Insert a brief 2-3 sentence description of your company, culture, and mission]. We are looking for a forward-thinking, tech-curious WordPress Web Developer Intern who wants to bridge the gap between classic web development and the future of digital discovery. You won't just build websites here—you will architect fast, data-structured, and AI-discoverable web experiences.

About the Role

As our WordPress & Next-Gen Search Intern, you will work closely with our web development, content, and digital marketing teams. You will manage and optimize WordPress websites while pioneering strategies to ensure our web properties rank high on Google (SEO), get featured inside direct-answer boxes (AEO), and are cited by generative AI engines and LLMs like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews (GEO / AIEO).

Key Responsibilities1. WordPress Development & Technical Optimization

- Build, customize, and maintain high-performing WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.
- Optimize site architecture, core web vitals (speed, mobile responsiveness, and interaction readiness), and database efficiency.
- Diagnose and fix broken links, indexing errors, and code bloat to ensure seamless search engine crawling.

2. Traditional SEO Implementation

- Implement on-page SEO best practices (meta tags, clean URL structures, proper heading hierarchies, and alt texts).
- Integrate and configure leading SEO plugins (e.g., Rank Math, Yoast) and monitor site indexing using Google Search Console.

3. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) & GEO/AIEO (Generative & AI Engine Optimization)

- Structured Data & Schema Markup: Implement advanced Schema.org markup (FAQ, HowTo, Article,

Organization, Product) so AI search agents can easily parse and understand site content.
- Information Architecture for AI: Structure web content using clear definitions, bulleted summaries, tables, and entity-rich data that LLMs prefer to pull into direct answers and citations.
- AI Visibility Tracking: Assist in auditing how brand assets and web pages are cited across generative search engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews).

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, IT, Web Development, BCA, MCA, or a related field.
- WordPress Proficiency: Hands-on experience building or managing WordPress sites (familiarity with Gutenberg, Elementor, or custom theme development is a plus).
- Coding Basics: Solid foundational understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and basic JavaScript/PHP.
- SEO Familiarity: Basic understanding of how search engines crawl, index, and rank web pages.
- The "Next-Gen" Mindset: Curiosity about how AI search, LLMs, and conversational engines are changing the web landscape. Eagerness to learn about GEO and AEO concepts.
- Analytical Mindset: Comfortable working with tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics (GA4), and PageSpeed Insights.

What You Will Learn & Gain (Perks)

- Cutting-Edge Experience: Move beyond traditional web dev by mastering the intersection of WordPress, technical SEO, and AI-driven discoverability (GEO/AEO).
- Mentorship: Direct guidance from senior developers and digital strategists.
- Real-World Impact: Your optimizations will go live on production websites handling real traffic.
- Certification & Recommendation: Internship completion certificate and a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) for top performers.
- PPO Prospect: Potential conversion to a full-time role based on your performance and contribution.
