Mechanical Engineering Job Description

Location: SIPCOT Industrial Park, Pillaipakkam, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu

Department: Mechanical Maintenance Reports to: Factory Manager

Experience: 10+ years in maintenance of PVC or plastic pipe manufacturing lines

Floking manufactures OPVC pipes using Molecor technology for water supply and irrigation.

Role purpose

Maintain production machines and plant utilities to support safe, reliable pipe manufacturing. Take responsibility for preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs and correction of recurring equipment faults.

Key responsibilities

- Plan and complete preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication and overhauls in line with the production schedule.
- Maintain PVC extrusion and downstream pipe equipment, including screws and barrels, gearboxes, bearings, couplings, haul-offs and cutting equipment.
- Attend breakdowns, identify the cause and complete repairs. Check machine readiness with production and electrical teams before restart.
- Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, compressors and cooling utilities. Coordinate specialised servicing with approved vendors.
- Check alignment, wear, vibration and leaks. Work with Production and Quality to correct faults affecting output, scrap or pipe quality.
- Identify critical spares, prepare correct specifications and coordinate availability with Stores and Purchase. Check repair or reuse options before replacement.




- Guide maintenance technicians and contractors. Support machine installation, commissioning, changeovers and improvement work.
- Record breakdown times, causes, repairs, spare consumption and pending work on the same day. Report serious faults and expected restoration time promptly.
- Follow equipment isolation and safe maintenance procedures. Restore guards and safety devices before restart and keep the work area clean.

Candidate requirements

- B.E. or B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on maintenance experience specifically in PVC or plastic pipe manufacturing lines.
- Sound knowledge of extrusion machinery, mechanical drawings, hydraulics, pneumatics and maintenance fault diagnosis.
- Able to plan repairs independently, supervise technicians and maintain transparent maintenance records.
- OPVC or Molecor equipment experience will be an advantage.

Performance expectations

Equipment availability, timely preventive maintenance, faster breakdown closure, fewer repeat failures, planned availability of spares and safe maintenance work.

Work conditions

Full-time role at the factory, with availability for critical production breakdowns as required. Company pickup and drop, food at the site and local accommodation are not provided. Employees must arrange their own commute, meals and accommodation.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
