Job Description – Mechanical Designer / Design Engineer

Adroit Water Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is an established manufacturer and engineering company specializing in water and wastewater treatment equipment, and environmental engineering solutions.

Our Equipment Division focuses on the design, development, and manufacturing of mechanical equipment for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment applications.

Key Responsibilities1. Mechanical Design & Engineering

- Design and develop mechanical equipment for water and wastewater treatment applications.
- Prepare 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, General Arrangement Drawings (GADs), assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Perform basic engineering calculations related to loads, torque, shaft sizing, material thickness, and structural strength.
- Improve existing equipment designs for better performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

2. Detailed Drawings & Documentation

- Prepare detailed fabrication and machining drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM), material requirements, and component lists.
- Prepare cutting layouts, sheet metal development drawings, and manufacturing details.
- Maintain proper drawing numbering, revisions, and engineering documentation.
- Prepare technical drawings and documents for client approvals and production.

3. Manufacturing & Production Support

- Coordinate closely with fabrication, machining, assembly, and production teams.
- Ensure that designs are practical, economical, and suitable for manufacturing.
- Provide technical clarification and resolve manufacturing-related issues.
- Support prototype development, testing, and product improvements.
- Identify opportunities for material optimization, weight reduction,



and manufacturing cost savings.
- Coordinate with vendors for bought-out components and specialized parts.

4. Product Development & Optimization

- Participate in the development of new products and equipment.
- Improve existing designs through value engineering and standardization.
- Assist in developing standardized components and modular equipment designs.
- Research new manufacturing methods, materials, and mechanical solutions.
- Work with the engineering team to develop indigenous designs and improve product quality.

5. Project & Technical Coordination

- Understand project specifications, tender requirements, and customer technical requirements.
- Prepare equipment drawings and technical data for project submissions.
- Coordinate with project engineers, procurement teams, and site execution teams.
- Incorporate client comments and modifications into approved designs.
- Provide technical assistance during equipment manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Preferably 2–6 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, fabrication, machinery, or equipment manufacturing.
- Candidates with experience in water treatment equipment, industrial machinery, material handling equipment, or heavy fabrication will be preferred.

Essential Technical Skills

- SolidWorks: 3D modelling, assemblies, sheet metal design, and detailed drawings.
- AutoCAD: 2D drafting, GADs, fabrication drawings, and layouts.
- Positive understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of MS and SS fabrication, welding, machining, and sheet metal processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing tolerances, fits, and material selection.
- Ability to prepare accurate BOMs and production-ready drawings.
- Familiarity with standard mechanical components, including motors, gearboxes, bearings, and drives.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and technical drawings.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
