Company Description Finova Motors is an electric motor technology company dedicated to advancing the future of transportation through innovative engineering. The organization focuses on high-performance, sustainable solutions for electric vehicles and aerospace applications. Joining Finova Motors offers the opportunity to help shape next-generation electric propulsion systems.
Qualifications:
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline)
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in design and DFM, with direct exposure to manufacturing components, products, and assembly.
• SolidWorks proficiency required; working familiarity with basic structural/FEA concepts is a plus but not mandatory, since detailed FEA work is handled by the Senior Product Engineer
• Strong knowledge of tolerances and GD&T;
- able to apply correct tolerancing and datum schemes, not just read them
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing is a plus. Not mandatory.
• Experience preparing DVPs and manufacturing/assembly
• Experience designing jigs/fixtures and performing precision mechanical assembly
Key Responsibilities
• Take design concepts/requirements and independently develop them into production-ready mechanical designs
• Apply DFM principles to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and minimize production issues
• Select appropriate product development processes, tolerances, and manufacturing methods based on cost, function, and volume
• Apply correct GD&T; on drawings, including datum schemes and tolerance stack-up
• Design for correct preloaded bearing/nut arrangements in precision assemblies
• Build functional prototypes using 3D printing to validate designs before committing to manufacturing
• Prepare DVPs (Design Verification Plans) to validate current designs before production
• Develop SOPs for manufacturing and assembly processes
• Design and own mechanical design for motor components, CMG/RW components, and the air bearing test bench
• Design and develop jigs/fixtures required for precision assembly
• Perform hands-on precision assembly using developed jigs and processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve design or process issues during fabrication and assembly
• Document design iterations, DVP results, SOPs, and assembly records
