Role Description The Jr Scientist (Molecular Breeding) is a full time, on-site role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. This position supports molecular breeding programs by assisting in the design and execution of experiments related to plant variety development. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and handling plant materials, conducting molecular analyses, collecting and organizing data, and maintaining accurate experimental records. The role involves working with senior scientists to implement breeding strategies, follow standard laboratory protocols, and contribute to data interpretation and reporting.



The Jr Scientist will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in routine lab maintenance, and help ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Qualifications
• Foundational knowledge in molecular biology, plant breeding, or genetics, with an interest in plant variety innovation.
• Practical experience in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., sample preparation, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, or similar methods) and careful handling of plant materials.
• Ability to collect, organize, and interpret experimental data, using spreadsheets or basic data analysis tools.
• Strong attention to detail, adherence to laboratory protocols, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary research environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Plant Sciences, Genetics, Biotechnology, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Previous internship or project experience in agricultural research or crop improvement is an advantage.
• Able to work in a start-up environment, stretch during peak seasonal requirements
• Able to handle the laboratory independently
• 3 to 5 years of work experience is preferred
• Able to work in field set up as it is crop (of mainly agricultural importance) based company
