***JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Instrumentation Engineer – CSD Filling Line**

**Role Overview**

We are looking for an Instrumentation Engineer with hands-on experience in **Carbonated Soft Drink (CSD) filling lines** to maintain, troubleshoot and improve instrumentation and automation systems. The role focuses on ensuring reliable equipment operation, accurate filling controls and minimum production downtime.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Diagnose and resolve instrumentation and automation faults on CSD filling machines, rinsers, cappers, conveyors and associated packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLC inputs/outputs, HMI alarms, control circuits, field wiring and communication faults.
- Maintain and calibrate pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flowmeters, level instruments and related control devices.
- Inspect and troubleshoot proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, encoders, solenoid valves, control valves and pneumatic actuators.
- Investigate control-related filling issues, including inconsistent fill levels, pressure fluctuations, faulty bottle detection and repeated machine stoppages.
- Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation associated with carbonation systems and filling pressure control.
- Support maintenance of CIP instrumentation, including conductivity, temperature, flow and level monitoring.
- Check machine interlocks, emergency-stop signals and control sequences in coordination with the maintenance team.
- Execute preventive maintenance, instrument calibration,



loop checks and functional testing as per approved schedules.
- Conduct root cause analysis of recurring faults and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and product wastage.
- Support installation, commissioning and trials of current equipment and instruments.
- Carry out authorised PLC/HMI modifications through approved change-control procedures and maintain program backups.
- Maintain calibration records, breakdown reports, instrument lists and critical spare parts requirements.
- Coordinate with production, quality, mechanical and electrical teams for safe equipment handover and restart.
- Follow plant safety, lockout/tagout, food hygiene and maintenance procedures.

**Required Skills & Experience**

- **Direct hands-on experience in instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting of CSD filling lines is mandatory.**
- Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems, preferably Siemens, Allen-Bradley or equivalent.
- Practical understanding of 4–20 mA signals, digital inputs/outputs, RTDs, thermocouples and calibration methods.
- Ability to read P&IDs;, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.
- Familiarity with VFD interfaces, industrial communication networks and automated line controls.
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to respond effectively to production breakdowns.
- Experience with Krones, KHS, Sidel or similar CSD filling equipment will be an advantage.
- Willingness to work in shifts.
