Role Name : Ignition Sr. Developer

Responsibilities:

1 Own the technical review of Ignition applications and define solution approaches for new development, modernization, complex modifications, and production improvements.

2 Lead the design and governance of tag architectures, HMI screens, templates, navigation patterns, reusable components, and global standards implementation.

3 Design and approve reusable assets such as UDTs, HMI templates, faceplates, and common frameworks, ensuring scalability, maintainability, performance, and consistency.

4 Lead code and design reviews, testing strategy, defect resolution, deployment planning, technical documentation, sign-off, and production-readiness activities.

5 Ensure development and modification activities comply with applicable URS, validation, traceability, change-control, cybersecurity, formatting, and documentation expectations.

6 Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Ignition developers, support effort estimation and planning, and proactively manage technical risks, dependencies, and escalations.

7 Engage with business, manufacturing, automation, MES, infrastructure, and validation stakeholders to clarify requirements and drive timely technical decisions.

8 Support incident analysis, root-cause identification, performance improvement, platform upgrades,



and continuous improvement of Ignition engineering practices.

Must Have Skills:

- Advanced hands-on expertise in Ignition SCADA architecture, development, configuration, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Strong experience designing and governing tag structures, HMI screens, reusable objects, templates, UDTs, faceplates, navigation frameworks, alarming, and standard application assets.
- Ability to independently assess existing Ignition applications, identify technical gaps, define improvement approaches, and lead complex enhancements or modernization activities.
- Experience establishing and enforcing development standards, conducting code and design reviews, and ensuring scalability, maintainability, performance, and reuse.
- Strong experience with testing strategy, defect resolution, deployment planning, release readiness, documentation, and technical sign-off.
- Working knowledge of URS, validation-oriented documentation, traceability, change control, and compliance expectations in standards-driven environments.
- Ability to provide technical direction, mentor developers, estimate work, manage technical risks and dependencies, and drive issues to closure.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to translate business and manufacturing requirements into robust Ignition solutions.

Good to have Skills:

- Exposure to shopfloor and manufacturing applications in multi-site or global environments.
- Understanding of Ignition integrations with PLCs, OPC, databases, historians, MES, ERP, and related industrial systems, where applicable.
- Experience supporting high-availability, performance optimization, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and regulated or validated environments.
- Ignition certification or experience leading platform upgrades, migrations, and reusable global template rollouts.
- Robust collaboration, documentation, governance, and issue-tracking discipline.
