About the role
This is not a meetings-only Scrum Master role. We want someone who owns the quality of what goes into a sprint, not just the sprint's cadence.
Leap Metrics is hiring a Technical Product Owner / Scrum Master in Hyderabad to drive delivery of Sevida, our healthcare analytics and care management platform. You will run Scrum for a full-stack engineering team and turn business and clinical requirements into JIRA epics and stories that engineers can build from.
If a vague ticket bothers you, if you instinctively add detail, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and data fields before a story reaches sprint planning, and if you can hold your own in a technical discussion with developers, we would like to talk to you.
Do you
- enjoy working closely with engineers on how things get built, not just when?
- want to be part of a quick-moving, growing healthcare technology team?
- want your work to directly improve care for tens of thousands of patients?
Who we are
Leap Metrics was founded to improve health outcomes, lower the cost of care, and improve regulatory compliance. Our platform, Sevida, stands for "in the service of human lives," and our team uses technology to serve populations with chronic healthcare needs.
We are experienced technologists, developers, designers, client advocates and entrepreneurs. Leap Metrics is headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, with an engineering team in Hyderabad. Learn more at leapmetrics.io.
Why work with us
- Meaningful mission: we help providers focus on care.
- Real ownership: what you write in JIRA becomes what ships to patients and care teams.
- Modern stack: React, Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, cloud delivery and CI/CD.
- Culture: a collaborative, supportive startup team at an exciting stage of growth.
What you will do
Product ownership and backlog quality (about half the role)
- Turn customer, clinical, and business requirements into well-formed JIRA epics and user stories.
- Enrich every story before it reaches sprint planning: clear acceptance criteria, business rules, edge cases, data fields, UI notes or wireframes, API and integration details, and test scenarios.
- Understand the technical design well enough to ask the right questions, spot gaps, and capture dependencies and technical notes in the ticket.
- Own backlog grooming and refinement with the product manager; keep the top of the backlog "ready" at least one sprint ahead.
- Partner with engineering leads to break large features into small, testable increments.
- Review completed work against the acceptance criteria and sign off that it meets the requirement.
- Keep Confluence documentation current so the team has one source of truth.
Scrum and delivery
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Coordinate frontend, backend, QA and DevOps to keep sprints on track.
- Track velocity, burndown and commitments, and report status, risks and blockers to stakeholders and executives.
- Remove impediments, manage cross-team dependencies, and support release planning.
- Act as the liaison between customers, business teams, engineering and support.
- Coach the team on Agile practices and drive continuous improvement in quality and predictability.
What you bring
Must have
- 5+ years in Scrum Master,
Product Owner, Business Analyst or Agile delivery roles with full-stack software teams.
- A track record of writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that developers and QA build and test directly. Be ready to show examples.
- Technical grounding: a background in software development, QA, or technical business analysis, and comfort with discussing APIs, data models, and integrations.
- Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, backlog management and the full SDLC.
- Hands-on expertise in JIRA and Confluence (workflows, boards, epics, filters and reporting).
- Clear written and spoken English; strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Highly preferred: healthcare product experience
- Experience building or maintaining healthcare software products.
- Understanding of healthcare workflows, system integrations (HL7/FHIR a plus), patient data privacy and regulatory considerations such as HIPAA.
Nice to have
- CSM, PSM, CSPO or PSPO certification.
- Product-based SaaS experience.
- Exposure to React, Node.js, REST APIs, GraphQL and SQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, release management and cloud delivery.
- Ability to sketch wireframes or simple UI flows.
Job details
- Job type: Full-time
- Location: Hyderabad, India (hybrid)
- Benefits: competitive salary, health insurance, paid time off, professional development assistance

1. Aptitude test.
