Role Description The Mould Operator Twin Slab Caster is a full-time, on-site role based in Saraikela Kharsawan. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring twin slab casting moulds, ensuring accurate setup, stable casting conditions, and adherence to production parameters. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and inspecting moulds, checking alignment and cooling systems, coordinating with control room operators, and responding promptly to process deviations.

The role involves performing routine checks on equipment, maintaining cleanliness and safety around the casting area, documenting production data, and supporting maintenance teams during shutdowns or equipment adjustments.

The Mould

Operator is expected to follow all safety guidelines, participate in shift handovers,



and work closely with supervisors and colleagues to achieve production and quality targets.

Qualifications

- Practical experience in operating casting or similar heavy industrial equipment, preferably in steel or metal manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of slab casting processes, mould setup, cooling systems, and basic mechanical principles relevant to continuous casting operations.
- Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures, production instructions, and safety guidelines with strong attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify process abnormalities and take corrective action under supervision.
- Commitment to workplace safety, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Capability to work in rotating shifts, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks in an industrial environment.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, control room operators, and maintenance teams during operations and shift handovers.
- Minimum high school or technical school education; vocational or diploma-level training in mechanical, metallurgical, or industrial trades is an advantage.
- Previous experience in steel plants, continuous casting units, or related heavy industry roles will be considered a strong asset.
