Role Description The Doctoral Student role at Dayananda Sagar University is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. The role involves conducting original research under faculty supervision, including literature review, experimental or computational work, data analysis, and publication of findings in peer-reviewed venues. Doctoral students are expected to contribute to their department’s academic activities by participating in seminars, presenting research progress,



and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects aligned with DSU’s technology and industry partnerships.

Responsibilities may include limited teaching or mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate learners, assisting in laboratory or project supervision, and supporting grant proposals and research collaborations. The role requires active engagement in the university’s innovation ecosystem, including conferences, workshops, and industry-linked research initiatives.

Qualifications

- Strong foundational knowledge in a relevant discipline (e.g., engineering, computer science, AI/ML, natural sciences, social sciences, management, or related fields).
- Demonstrated research aptitude, including experience with literature review, problem formulation, data collection, and analysis.
- Proficiency in academic writing, including drafting research papers, theses, and technical reports, with attention to clarity and rigor.
- Analytical and quantitative skills, such as statistical methods, modeling, or computational techniques appropriate to the chosen research area.
- Ability to use relevant tools and technologies (e.g., programming languages, simulation software, AI/ML frameworks, or laboratory instruments, as applicable).
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with supervisors, peers, and industry partners in a multidisciplinary setting.
