Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O;) Finance Functional Consultant with strong expertise in financial business processes, ERP implementations, configuration, and support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in implementing and configuring D365 F&O; Finance modules, conducting business workshops, translating business requirements into functional solutions, and collaborating with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver successful ERP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Functional Consulting and Implementation

Lead and participate in end-to-end implementation, rollout, enhancement, and support engagements for Dynamics 365 F&O; Finance.

Gather and analyze business requirements through stakeholder interviews and functional workshops.

Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), functional design documents, and process flow diagrams.

Map business requirements to standard D365 F&O; capabilities and recommend best-practice solutions.

Configure finance modules and validate the solution against business requirements.

- Finance Module Expertise

General Ledger (GL), chart of accounts, financial dimensions, journals, and financial period management.

Accounts Payable (AP), vendor management, invoice processing, and payment processing.

Accounts Receivable (AR), customer invoicing, collections, and settlements.

Cash and Bank Management, bank reconciliation, and payment formats.

Fixed Assets, depreciation, asset acquisition, and disposal.

Budgeting, financial reporting, and financial period close processes.

Tax configuration, including sales tax/VAT/GST, as applicable to project requirements.

Intercompany accounting and financial consolidation, where applicable.

Cost accounting and financial management processes, where required.

- Solution Design and Configuration

Configure financial parameters, posting profiles, number sequences, financial dimensions, ledger setup, and accounting structures.

Design and validate procure-to-pay (P2P), order-to-cash (O2C), record-to-report (R2R), and period-end closing processes.





Identify functional gaps and recommend standard configurations, workarounds, or customizations where necessary.

Collaborate with technical teams on functional specifications for extensions, reports, integrations, and workflows.

Understand the impact of finance transactions across Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sales, and other integrated modules.

- Testing and Deployment

Prepare and execute functional test scenarios, test scripts, and end-to-end business process tests.

Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and defect resolution.

Assist with data migration activities, including data validation, reconciliation, and opening balance verification.

Support cutover planning, go-live activities, and post-go-live stabilization.

Prepare user manuals, configuration documents, and training materials.

- Client and Project Management

Conduct client workshops and communicate functional solutions to business stakeholders.

Coordinate with technical consultants, solution architects, project managers, and other functional teams.

Manage assigned deliverables, provide regular status updates, and proactively highlight risks and dependencies.

Support pre-sales activities, solution demonstrations, effort estimation, and proposal preparation when required.

Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing and reusable practice assets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

5–8 years of experience in ERP finance functional consulting, with substantial hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

Strong functional knowledge of core finance modules, particularly GL, AP, AR, Cash and Bank Management, Fixed Assets, and Tax.

Experience in at least one or more full-cycle D365 F&O; implementations or major rollout projects.

Hands-on experience with finance configuration, business process mapping, requirement gathering, and functional documentation.

Good understanding of accounting principles,



financial controls, month-end closing, and financial reconciliation.

Experience in writing functional specifications and working with technical teams on customizations and integrations.

Practical experience in SIT, UAT, defect management, data migration validation, and go-live support.

Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver quality outcomes in a client-facing environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Electronic Reporting (ER), workflows, financial reports, and Power BI-based financial reporting.

Exposure to Dynamics 365 integrations with banks, tax platforms, third-party applications, and other enterprise systems.

Familiarity with LCS, Azure DevOps, and project delivery methodologies.

Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency, and intercompany accounting scenarios.

Knowledge of localization and statutory reporting requirements for India or other relevant geographies.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance functional certification, such as MB-310 or its current equivalent.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualifications are an advantage.
