About BetterDrones

BetterDrones is a drone intelligence and geospatial technology company specializing in drone inspections, GIS, LiDAR, mapping, surveying, and AI-powered infrastructure inspection solutions.

We work with power utilities, renewable energy companies, EPC contractors, railways, and government organizations to inspect, map, and manage critical infrastructure using advanced drone and geospatial technologies.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and field-oriented Field Operation Associate to support the planning, coordination, and execution of civil survey, DGPS, mapping, and infrastructure project activities across India.

This is an entry-level opportunity for B.Tech. Civil Engineering graduates who are willing to travel extensively, coordinate with field teams and clients, and take responsibility for end-to-end operational activities.

The role requires frequent travel, including to remote locations and challenging terrain. Candidates must be comfortable staying away from Noida for project assignments, working outdoors, and adapting to changing site conditions and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Operations & Project Execution

- Support the planning and execution of field surveys, DGPS activities, mapping, and infrastructure-related projects.
- Coordinate daily site activities, schedules, manpower requirements, and task allocation with the operations team.
- Visit project locations and support field execution, progress tracking, and timely completion of assigned work.
- Follow project instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and client/site protocols.

2. Team & Client Coordination

- Coordinate with surveyors, DGPS operators, field staff, internal departments, and project managers.
- Communicate with clients regarding site access, work schedules, daily progress, and operational requirements under the guidance of the reporting manager.
- Share timely updates, resolve routine coordination issues, and escalate delays or site-level challenges promptly.
- Ensure that field teams understand project instructions, deliverables, and timelines.

3. Survey Data & Documentation

- Assist in checking field records, survey measurements, coordinates, daily reports, and collected data for completeness.

- Coordinate with GIS and data-processing teams to transfer field data and address missing or incomplete information.
- Maintain daily progress reports, project trackers, manpower updates, and other operational documentation.
- Support quality checks and corrective actions as directed by the project team.

4. Travel, Logistics & Equipment Coordination

- Coordinate travel, accommodation, local transportation, site access, and other field logistics as required.
- Help track the availability, movement, and protected handling of DGPS/GNSS equipment and other survey instruments.
- Be prepared for frequent nationwide travel, extended project-site stays, and assignments in remote or difficult-to-access locations.
- Report equipment issues, resource shortages, safety concerns, and operational risks without delay.

5. End-to-End Operational Support

- Track assigned activities from pre-deployment preparation through field execution, data handover, reporting, and project closure.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure dependencies, deliverables, and timelines are followed.
- Maintain professional conduct with clients, team members, vendors, and site representatives.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.

- Immediate joiners are preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, planning, and problem-solving skills.

- Interest in civil surveying, DGPS/GNSS, land surveying, mapping, and infrastructure projects.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India and stay at project locations as required.
- Ability to work outdoors, walk across uneven terrain, and adapt to remote sites, changing weather, and demanding field conditions.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple teams, follow instructions, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
