Lyrus Life Sciences is a pharmaceutical company focused on developing quality pharmaceutical formulations. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Formulation R&D; skilled to join our Research & Development team at Hoskote, Bengaluru.

Job Purpose To develop, optimize, and evaluate pharmaceutical formulations, ensuring product quality, stability, manufacturability, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and optimize pharmaceutical formulations, particularly oral solid dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, and other relevant dosage forms.
2. Conduct pre-formulation studies, including evaluation of API properties, excipient compatibility, solubility, and stability.
3. Perform formulation trials, prototype development, and process optimization.
4. Prepare and execute laboratory experiments and document observations, results, and conclusions.
5. Support analytical testing, dissolution studies, and stability studies in coordination with the Analytical R&D; team.
6. Evaluate formulation performance and troubleshoot issues related to flow properties, compressibility, disintegration, dissolution, and product stability.
7. Prepare and review technical documents, including development reports, experimental records, protocols, and batch manufacturing instructions.
8. Support scale-up activities, technology transfer, and exhibit or pilot batch manufacturing.
9. Coordinate with Analytical R&D;, Quality Assurance, Production, and Regulatory Affairs teams to support product development and commercialization.
10. Ensure compliance with applicable GMP requirements,



laboratory safety practices, and internal SOPs.
11. Support preparation of technical data and documentation required for regulatory submissions, as applicable.
12. Maintain laboratory equipment, records, and development data in accordance with established procedures.

Educational Qualification
- M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a relevant specialization.
- B.Pharm candidates with relevant Formulation R&D; experience may also be considered, depending on the role and technical expertise.

Experience Required
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Experience in oral solid dosage forms, including tablets and capsules, is preferred.
- Exposure to formulation optimization, stability studies, scale-up, and technology transfer will be an advantage.
- Experience with generic product development and regulatory documentation is desirable.

Required Skills and Competencies
- Good knowledge of formulation development and pre-formulation studies.
- Understanding of excipient selection, drug–excipient compatibility, and dissolution behaviour.
- Knowledge of formulation troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and pharmaceutical documentation practices.
- Ability to interpret experimental results and prepare technical reports.
- Good analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple development activities and meet project timelines.

Preferred Technical Exposure
- Tablet and capsule formulation development.
- Wet granulation, dry granulation, direct compression, and coating processes.
- Stability studies and formulation optimization.
- Pilot-scale trials, scale-up, and technology transfer.
- Preparation of development reports and supporting regulatory documentation.
