Job Summary The incumbent will be responsible for leading plant maintenance operations at the Khopoli Unit, ensuring high equipment reliability, regulatory compliance (GMP), and uninterrupted production through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies. The role involves managing utilities, HVAC systems, statutory compliance, team supervision, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant & Equipment Maintenance Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all plant machinery and utilities.

Ensure equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), calibration, and validation activities as per GMP requirements.

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major breakdowns and implement CAPA to prevent recurrence.

Ensure minimum downtime through effective troubleshooting and structured maintenance planning.

2. Utilities & HVAC Management Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC systems including AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, and cleanroom systems.

Monitor critical utilities such as DG sets, boilers (if applicable), water systems, and compressed air systems.

Ensure compliance with environmental and safety norms related to utilities.

3. Compliance & Documentation (GMP/QMS) Ensure maintenance documentation as per QMS standards and regulatory requirements.

Prepare and review SOPs, calibration schedules, maintenance logs, and audit documentation.

Support internal and external audits (GMP, ISO, regulatory inspections).





Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and liaison with external agencies when required.

4. Team Management & Leadership Lead and supervise the maintenance team (engineers, technicians, and contractors).

Plan manpower deployment and shift schedules to ensure 24/7 plant coverage.

Conduct training programs to enhance technical competency and GMP awareness.

Drive a culture of safety and accountability within the department.

5. Spare Parts & Budget Control Manage spares inventory, vendor development, and AMC contracts.

Control maintenance budget and ensure cost optimization without compromising quality.

Identify and implement cost-saving and energy-efficiency initiatives.

6. New Projects & Commissioning Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification activities.

Participate in plant expansion, automation, and infrastructure development projects.

Ensure timely execution of engineering projects within defined timelines and budget.

Required Skills & Competencies Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance practices.

In-depth understanding of HVAC, cleanroom maintenance, and utilities management.

Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments (preferably medical devices/pharma).

Expertise in preventive maintenance planning, RCA, and CAPA implementation.

Working knowledge of QMS documentation and audit handling.

Strong leadership, team management, and vendor coordination skills.

Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability.

Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance planning tools (CMMS preferred).
