JOB PURPOSE

This role in delivering products per the specifications within target product cost, time, quality and performance parameters. The goal is to secure the effective operation of our business and the satisfaction of our clients to achieve accelerating and sustainable growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA

- Embedded firmware design and development for appliance controllers using 8/16/32 bitmicrocontrollers (STM, PIC, AVR, ARM Cortex-M, Renesas, etc.,) in Embedded C

- Develop motor control firmware for BLDC / Universal / Induction motor drives PWMgeneration, closed loop speed and load control, soft start, jar detection and overload protection logic

- Design, develop, code, test and debug system software for controllers using IDE's like STM32CubeIDE, MPLAB, AVR Studio, Keil, IAR, Code Composer Studio, etc.,

- Develop peripheral drivers and communication stacks I2C, SPI, UART, USB, SSI, CAN and wireless connectivity (BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi / IoT enabled appliances)

- Board bring-up, integration and validation of firmware with new product hardware designs

- Debugging and emulation using JTAG / ICD / ICE debuggers, logic analyzer, CRO and in-circuit emulators

- Proficient in software reverse engineering and code optimization for memory, MIPS and power constraints

- Quick prototyping skills, development of diagnostic / test firmware and perform root cause analysis ability

- Knowledge of firmware architecture interrupt driven design, state machines, scheduler / RTOS,



bootloader and in-field firmware upgrade

- Prepare technical documentation (Software Requirement Documents, Hardware Software Interface, architecture and flow charts, test plans, release notes, version history)

- Version control, configuration management and code review discipline (Git / SVN, MISRA C coding standards, static code analysis)

- Participate on cross-functional teams to develop product and process risk management file (risk management plan, risk assessments, DFMEA / SFMEA, and risk management reports,

etc.).

- MATLAB / Simulink model-based design, simulation and MINITAB hands on added advantage

- IEC 60730 software class B and IEC 60335 safety compliance knowledge; firmware robustness for EMI/EMC and ESD immunity

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

- Basic of Fundamental Electrical / Electronics

- Robust programming skills in Embedded C / C++; Python or scripting for test automation

- Ability to read schematics, datasheets, MCU reference manuals and correlate firmware

with hardware behavior

- Knowledge of ADC, timers, PWM, watchdog, EEPROM / Flash memory handling and low

power modes

- Unit testing, HIL / functional testing and software validation knowledge

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Graduate/Post Graduate in Engineering: Electrical/Electronics & Communication/Power

Electronics/Embedded systems

- 5 plus years experience in the same domain & similar industry
