R&I; Program Manager / Project Manager

Reports to: Head of R&I;

Responsibilities

1. Plan and track R&I; project milestones and deliverables
2. Coordinate cross-functional dependencies
3. Maintain timelines, risk logs, and resource allocations
4. Prepare reports for leadership on progress and blockers
5. Interface with product managers and engineering managers
6. Manage documentation and compliance for R&I; processes

R&I; Lead Responsibilities: Develop experimental features, tools, or platform enhancements
1. Support testbed and prototype deployments
2. Document findings and outcomes of research tasks
3. Drive architectural and technical design of new systems
4. Conduct feasibility studies and POC development
5. Research new protocols, APIs, tools, or algorithms
6. Contribute to patents and technical whitepapers
7. Lead deep dives and experimental deployments

High-Level Objectives R&I; Department (CPaaS)

1. Drive Innovation and Technical Differentiation
2. Explore and validate emerging communication technologies (e.g., WebRTC, 5G, AI/ML, programmable voice/video/messaging/Data Engineering).
3. Develop experimental prototypes and proof-of-concepts that can evolve into strategic product features.

4. Support Strategic Technology Roadmap
5. Align research initiatives with long-term product and platform goals.
6. Contribute new ideas and technical possibilities to influence product vision.
7. Accelerate Time-to-Experimentation
8. Rapidly test and iterate on new ideas in controlled environments.

Establish testbeds and lab infrastructure for quick prototyping and validation.

11. Conduct feasibility studies, architecture evaluations, and technology comparisons.
12. De-risk current technology adoption before engineering-scale implementation.

14. Encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous technical learning across the team.
15. Support contributions to open-source projects, patents, and technical papers.

18. Provide early insights on prototype limitations, scaling risks, and integration concerns.

21. Ensure early QA involvement to validate performance, interoperability, and reliability of prototypes.
22. Leverage Data and ML for Smart Communications
23. Integrate machine learning, data insights, and automation into communication workflows and platform intelligence.
24. Support ML Ops and data analysis in experimental environments.
25. Track Metrics and Communicate Impact
26. Measure and report progress on R&I; initiatives, success of experiments, and ROI on innovation.
27. Maintain visibility of R&I; contributions to executives and product stakeholders.
