Job Title: IVF Staff Nurse

Department: IVF / Reproductive Medicine / Fertility Center

Job Summary The IVF Staff Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing fertility treatments, including IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), IUI (Intrauterine Insemination), and other assisted reproductive procedures. The nurse supports patients throughout their fertility journey, assists doctors during procedures, administers prescribed medications, and maintains patient safety, confidentiality, and accurate clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care and Counselling

- Assess patients before, during, and after fertility procedures.
- Explain IVF treatment protocols, procedures, and medication schedules to patients.
- Provide emotional support and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Educate patients regarding medication administration, injections, and follow-up appointments.
- Monitor patients for complications and promptly report abnormalities to the treating doctor.

1. IVF Procedure Assistance

- Assist doctors during oocyte retrieval, embryo transfer, and other fertility-related procedures.
- Prepare the procedure room, instruments, and required equipment.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
- Monitor vital signs before and after procedures.
- Assist with patient preparation and recovery following sedation or anesthesia, as applicable.

1. Medication Administration

- Administer prescribed fertility medications, hormonal injections, and other medications according to medical orders.
- Educate patients about medication timing, dosage, storage, and administration.
- Monitor and document medication responses and adverse reactions.
- Ensure proper medication storage, stock monitoring, and expiry-date checks.

Laboratory Coordination

- Coordinate with embryologists and the IVF laboratory team for patient identification and procedure scheduling.
- Follow established protocols for specimen identification, labeling, transfer, and documentation.
- Maintain strict patient identification and specimen traceability procedures.
- Ensure timely communication between the nursing team, doctors, and laboratory staff.

1. Documentation and Administration

- Maintain accurate nursing notes, treatment records, medication charts, and procedure checklists.
- Document patient consent and verify required documentation before procedures.
- Coordinate appointments, investigations, and follow-up visits.
- Maintain patient records in accordance with hospital policies and applicable regulations.

1. Infection Control and Safety

- Follow hand hygiene, sterilization, biomedical waste management, and infection prevention protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the IVF procedure area.
- Check emergency equipment and ensure availability of essential supplies.
- Report incidents, medication errors, and patient safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications and Experience
- Education: GNM or B.Sc. Nursing; depending on employer requirements.
- Registration: Valid registration with the applicable State Nursing Council.
- Experience: Experience in gynecology, obstetrics, fertility care, or an IVF center is preferred.
- Skills: Valuable communication, patient counseling, medication administration, infection control, teamwork, and documentation skills.
- Additional advantage: Knowledge of IVF protocols, ovarian stimulation, oocyte retrieval, embryo transfer, and fertility medications

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
