Role Overview:

This is not a conventional primary research role but a senior — decision making role, for someone who understands both how the development sector operates and works around data, field research, policy, and social impact.This role is for someone who can move seamlessly from asking the right questions to finding the deeper story in the data.

? The chance:

I. Research design and planning

- Develop conceptual frameworks, discussion guides, interview protocols , observation formats, and other qualitative data-collection tools.
- Support proposal development, research budgets , timelines, and work plans.
- Lead qualitative research studies, including objectives, research questions, methodologies, sampling approaches, and analysis plans.

II. Qualitative data collection

- Conduct field visits and directly facilitate interviews or discussions where required.
- Coordinate with field teams to plan and monitor data collection across locations.
- Review transcripts, translations, field notes, and recordings to ensure quality,



accuracy, and completeness.
- Lead qualitative data collection through in-depth interviews (IDIs), key-informant interviews (KIIs), focus-group discussions ( FGDs ).

III. Analysis and insight generation

- Identify patterns, emerging themes, and context-specific insights from qualitative data.
- Translate complex findings into clear, evidence-based insights and practical recommendations.
- Lead qualitative data management, coding, thematic analysis, framework analysis, and synthesis.
- Integrate qualitative findings with quantitative data, programme information, and secondary research where relevant.

IV. Reporting and stakeholder engagement

- Present findings and recommendations to clients, donors, leadership, and programme teams.
- Lead the preparation of high-quality research reports, presentations, decks , and client-facing deliverables.
- Respond to feedback, revise deliverables, and ensure timely completion of research outputs.
- Review research tools, transcripts, analysis outputs, and draft reports for quality and rigour.
- Coordinate with research, operations, data, and client-facing teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

? Who should apply?

- 8–10 years of relevant experience in qualitative research, development research, impact evaluation, or social-sector consulting.
- Strong project ownership — timelines, teams, quality, budgets , and deliverables.
- Excellent report-writing, storytelling, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience managing baseline-to-endline/panel studies and large-scale field research.
- Proficiency in NVivo , or a comparable qualitative analysis tool.
- Willingness to travel to field locations as required.
