Job Summary

Responsible for an area of output, including editorial control, selection and compilation of material, production, leading teams, planning and implementing effective use of resources.

Responsibilities

- Reporting to the Editor, the Senior Producer is responsible for originating and producing original stories from the ground.
- The role includes ideation, scripting, editing, outputting, filming content across a range of digital output.
- Commission and select relevant materials ensuring they meet expectations of our audiences.
- Ensure all content published on BBC News Hindi website and its social media platforms adhere to the BBC editorial and social media guidelines.
- May be required to present live or recorded content online on BBC News Hindi social media platforms.
- As required, to allocate work to a team member and check progress; ensure professional contribution of staff and quality of output.
- Seek ways to increase diversity in our workforce and ensure that our output reflects the audiences we serve.
- Have effective coordination with the Planner to ensure the planning process reflects ground reality, producing unique content for BBC News Hindi audience.
- Deliver journalism of the highest standard and within the required timeframe using available resources.
- Ensure all content published in BBC News Hindi website, social media platforms and TV programmes are without factual or grammatical errors.
- Ensure effective use of resources and materials between Digital and TV teams.




- Monitor developments/Breaking News from the region and around the world and publish appropriately with value addition and perspective.
- Act as a bridge between team members and Editor to ensure desired results in terms of output and coordination.
- Deliver to tight deadlines while maintaining quality and highest editorial standards.
- At all times, carry out duties in accordance with the organisation's health and safety policy. Requirements
- A high standard of editorial judgment, writing ability and production skills based on substantial digital journalism experience.
- Thorough knowledge of analytics and audience engagement tools and strategy.
- Understand the requirements of the BBC News Hindi audience and deliver to achieve its target.
- Maximises opportunities offered by existing and emerging technologies to their fullest extent.
- Ability to contribute effectively for the benefit of Digital and TV platforms.
- Demonstrates a commitment to improve diversity and understands how individual differences can benefit the Collective Newsroom.
- Prioritises and plans activities taking into account all relevant issues and factors such as deadlines, staffing and resources.
- Ability to write creatively in an engaging manner, adapt, produce and translate with accuracy, clarity and style appropriate to differing audiences and forms of media suitable for multimedia output.
- To ensure all published content adheres to the BBC editorial standards and is without any factual or grammatical errors.
- Adaptable and adaptable to sustain performance, particularly under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities and circumstances.
- Sound understanding of health and safety procedures and how they apply to digital media.
