Opportunity for the Position of Sr Engineer – Production (Press Shop)

Designation (Role): Sr. Engineer – Production

Department (Functional Area): Production

Reporting To: HOD

Company/Working Location: Moraiya, Ahmedabad (Gujarat)

Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹55,000 per month (depending on experience)

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 5+ Years

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day press shop production activities as per production plans and customer requirements.

Key Skills Required
- Solid knowledge of sheet metal press shop and stamping operations.
- Hands-on experience in press machines, press tools and die setting.
- Good knowledge of blanking, bending, forming and punching processes.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
- Knowledge of first-piece inspection, rejection analysis and corrective actions.
- Understanding of production planning, manpower handling and shop-floor management.
- Knowledge of production KPIs, cycle time, OEE and machine utilization.
- Strong troubleshooting,



problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valuable team management and interdepartmental coordination skills.
- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement practices.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Plan and allocate manpower, press machines, tools and resources to achieve daily and monthly production targets.
- Monitor press shop operations, including sheet metal pressing, stamping, blanking, bending and forming processes.
- Ensure production is carried out as per engineering drawings, specifications and approved work instructions.
- Monitor machine utilization, cycle time, productivity, rejection, rework and downtime.
- Ensure proper die setting, tool setup, machine parameters and first-piece inspection before starting production.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Tool Room and Stores departments for smooth production operations.
- Drive reduction of rejection, rework, material wastage and production losses.
- Implement Kaizen, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives in the press shop.
- Ensure proper handling, maintenance and availability of press tools and dies.
- Maintain production records, daily production reports, rejection reports and downtime reports.
- Ensure compliance with machine safety standards, PPE requirements and shop-floor safety procedures.
- Guide, train and monitor operators, supervisors and production team members.
- Monitor production KPIs and ensure achievement of targets related to quality, delivery, productivity and cost.
