Job Title: Engineer – NPD (Design & Development)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 2+ years of experience in New Product Development (NPD) for mould-based plastic components. The role involves product development coordination, technical documentation, engineering drawing interpretation, mould development support, and cross-functional collaboration with customers, vendors, and internal teams. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining development records, quality documentation, and project documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & Design Coordination

- Coordinate with customers and mould design vendors for finalization of product design, specifications, and development requirements.
- Review mould, jig, and fixture designs and recommend improvements based on manufacturability, quality, and cost considerations.
- Support end-to-end NPD activities from concept development to production implementation.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, customer specifications, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate engineering changes and ensure timely implementation across all related functions.
- Support mould trials, validations, and product approval activities.

Documentation & Quality Systems
- Prepare, maintain, and control all NPD-related documentation including development records, design change records, trial reports, validation reports, and project status reports.
- Create and update APQP documents such as Process Flow Diagram (PFD), PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP documentation, and related customer submission documents.
- Maintain Engineering Change Notes (ECN), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and document revision history.




- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of product development activities as per customer and organizational requirements.
- Prepare technical presentations, development summaries, lessons learned, and project closure reports.
- Coordinate with Quality and Production teams to ensure documentation compliance during new product launches.
- Ensure document control compliance as per ISO 9001:2015 and support IATF 16949:2016 requirements.

Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Tool Room, Purchase, and Planning teams during development stages.
- Coordinate with suppliers and external agencies for tooling development, trials, and documentation requirements.
- Track project milestones, development timelines, and documentation deliverables.

Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CATIA (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks will be an added advantage).
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T;, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of mould design, jigs, fixtures, and injection moulding processes.
- Hands-on experience in APQP, PFD, PFMEA, PPAP, Control Plan, and document preparation.
- Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills.
- Basic knowledge of polymer materials and their properties.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and documentation management practices.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in injection moulding, automotive components, or plastic product development.
- Exposure to customer documentation requirements and quality management systems.
- Experience in handling engineering change management and NPD documentation.

Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
