About the Role We seek dedicated data-engineering support for a prospective post-merger integration. The immediate challenge is to take over the incoming data platform and preserve reliable service for its downstream consumers while integrating it with mobile.de's platform. A hands-on engineer who can take responsibility for the takeover, operation, and integration of a production data platform, pipelines, and analytical models.

As part of the mobile.de Data Platform team, the engineer takes ownership of delivery and reliability for the newly integrated data platform, working within the team's direction, and proactively communicates progress, risks, and trade-offs.

Responsibilities

- Takeover and knowledge transfer: Receive the incoming platform and data models; capture architecture, dependencies, ownership, runbooks, and operational knowledge, and close critical gaps.
- Operational continuity: Keep the platform, pipelines, and related services reliable for downstream consumers, including Finance, Marketing, and Analytics; monitor, troubleshoot, manage incidents, and safeguard data quality.
- Platform integration: Harmonise infrastructure, orchestration,



and operating practices with mobile.de's platform using infrastructure as code and safe change management.
- Pipeline maintenance: Repair and adapt inherited BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, SQL, and Python workflows where needed for continuity and integration.
- Collaboration: Work with platform, product, analytics, and engineering stakeholders across time zones; escalate risks and dependencies early.

Requirements

- Production-grade SQL and Python, with strong data-warehouse, analytical modelling and dbt fundamentals.
- Operating GCP-based data platforms and production pipelines built on BigQuery and Airflow: orchestration, monitoring, troubleshooting, testing, data quality, and safe changes.
- In-depth knowledge of GCP operations, including infrastructure-as-code (terraform) and Google IAM.
- Experience with analytics or marketing data ingestion and instrumentation from Amplitude and Google Analytics (GTM/server-side GTM).
- Hands-on knowledge of Fivetran is a big plus.
- Proven ability to take over unfamiliar systems, work autonomously within agreed direction, and communicate clearly in English.
- Preferred experience Looker Hightouch Monte Carlo Datahub or similar catalogues / metadata tooling
- Disciplined AI-assisted engineering workflows.
