Role Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join the global delivery team working on deployment and end-to-end testing of the cloud-native policy application (PCRF/PCF). Working in a CaaS setting, the engineer prepares deployment inputs, integrates the policy node with its peers across 4G and 5G, writes and validates policy rule sets,

and runs the call-flow testing that proves the solution in the customer network.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function) functionality and its interfaces within 4G and 5G call

flows.
- Understand PCRF dimensioning and prepare the input files (JSON / Helm) for cloud-native deployment

operator-based, tool-based or manual.
- Understand the network topology and integrate the PCRF with peer nodes.
- Apply 4G Diameter and 5G HTTP/2 protocol knowledge to execute call-flow testing.
- Build the logical configuration required for first call in the network and write the logic that creates policy rules.
- Design and develop topology and rule sets for the PCRF/OCS solution in line with customer requirements.
- Perform configuration audits and document the delivered configuration.
- Work flexibly across time zones as part of a global delivery team based in India.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- Policy architecture: knowledge of Policy/PCRF architectures and interworking.
- Traffic management: strong knowledge of mobile data traffic management technologies and solutions (PCRF,

PCEF, OCS) and of mobile internet architectures, services and associated protocols — particularly Diameter and HTTP/2.
- Interfaces: experience with 4G and 5G policy interfaces — Gx, Gy, Sy, N7, N40, N28 — on PCRF and OCS products

and platforms.




- Cloud architecture: CaaS, CNF/VNF, Kubernetes (containers/Docker) and OpenShift.
- Deployment: installation, integration and configuration of telecom core nodes (PCRF) on cloud architecture;

PCRF + OCS solution deployment in virtualised, OpenStack or cloud environments.
- Network knowledge: in-depth technical knowledge of 4G, 5G and mobile data and voice networks, architectures

and services.
- Linux and scripting: basic shell scripting and Linux experience — OS installation, administration and

troubleshooting. Desirable — Added Advantage
- Hands-on experience with Nokia NPC-Policy.
- Nokia PCRF + OCS solution deployment in a virtualised, OpenStack or cloud environment.
- Charging and OCS rating/ratings-plan exposure.
- Automation of deployment inputs and configuration audits (Python, Ansible, Helm templating).
- Experience presenting solutions to a large, predominantly technical audience.

Qualifications and Competencies
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
- Highly proficient written and spoken communication skills.
- Excellent cross-functional communication, co-ordination and negotiation skills.
- Good consultation skills, with the ability to drive solutions in line with customer requirements.
- Good presentation skills — comfortable addressing a large, predominantly technical audience.
- Ability to think outside the box in order to create mobile internet and mobile broadband traffic management

solutions.
- Self-starter with initiative, enthusiasm and a positive 'can do' attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours across global customer time zones and to travel as per business requirements.
