We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Software Test Engineer to validate software applications, ensure product quality, and improve application reliability through manual and automated testing. The role involves reviewing software requirements, preparing test scenarios, executing test cases, developing automation scripts, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality software products.

The ideal candidate should have a robust understanding of software testing methodologies, experience with test automation tools, and knowledge of API testing, SQL, and defect management. Experience testing mapping, navigation, or location-based applications will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Test Planning: Review software requirements, analyze specifications, and prepare test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Manual Testing: Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory tests to validate software functionality and identify defects.
- Automation Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Python, Java, or other suitable scripting languages.
- Test Automation Tools: Use Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent automation frameworks to automate repetitive testing activities.
- API Testing: Validate REST APIs, request and response structures, data integrity, error handling, and integration between application components.
- Integration Testing: Verify interactions between software modules, backend services, databases, and external systems.
- Database Testing: Use SQL queries to validate database records, verify data accuracy, and identify inconsistencies in application outputs.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using defect-tracking tools, and coordinate with developers for resolution.
- Regression Testing:



Perform regression tests after code changes, bug fixes, and software updates to ensure existing functionality remains stable.
- Debugging and Troubleshooting: Investigate test failures, analyze unexpected application behaviour, and support root cause identification.
- Test Documentation: Maintain test cases, execution results, defect reports, test summaries, and other quality assurance documentation.
- Continuous Integration: Support automated testing within CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous testing workflows.
- Quality Improvement: Identify gaps in test coverage, recommend improvements to testing processes, and help strengthen software quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to validate requirements and deliver reliable software releases.
- Mapping and Navigation Testing: Where applicable, validate mapping data, navigation functionality, location-based services, and related application behaviour.

Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Relevant experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test automation is preferred.
- Testing Knowledge: Strong understanding of manual testing, automation testing, SDLC, STLC, and software testing methodologies.
- Programming Skills: Working knowledge of Python, Java, JavaScript, or another test-scripting language.
- Automation Frameworks:



Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent automation tools.
- API Testing: Understanding of REST APIs, API validation, integration testing, and API testing tools.
- Database Knowledge: Familiarity with SQL queries, database validation, and data integrity checks.
- Version Control: Working knowledge of Git and collaborative software development practices.
- Defect Management: Experience documenting, tracking, and retesting software defects.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify edge cases, inconsistencies, and potential failure scenarios.
- Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills for documenting issues and coordinating with development teams.
- Domain Knowledge: Experience with mapping, navigation, geospatial, or location-based applications is an advantage.

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,400,000.00 per year
