– SITE ENGINEER (BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION)

Position: Site Engineer – Bridges

Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech in Civil Engineering

Job Summary The Site Engineer will be responsible for the execution and supervision of bridge construction activities as per approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Site Execution
- Supervise bridge construction activities, including excavation, foundation, PCC, pile foundation (if applicable), pile caps, abutments, piers, pier caps, and return walls.
- Execute RCC works for deck slabs, girders, wing walls, and approach slabs.
- Ensure work is carried out as per approved structural drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate daily site activities, labour, machinery, and materials.
- Surveying & Setting Out
- Carry out bridge alignment, centreline marking, levels, and setting out.
- Check foundation levels, pier locations, bearing levels, and deck levels.
- Coordinate with the surveyor for total station, auto level, and other survey instruments.
- Reinforcement & Shuttering
- Check reinforcement cutting, bending, spacing, lap length, cover, and placement.
- Verify reinforcement as per approved BBS and structural drawings.
- Inspect shuttering, staging, scaffolding, and formwork before concreting.
- Ensure proper alignment, dimensions, and stability of formwork.
- Quality Control
- Ensure concrete grade, mix design, slump, and cube testing comply with specifications.
- Maintain records of concrete pouring, material testing, and inspection requests.
- Check curing, construction joints, bearings, and expansion joints.
- Follow project quality plans and applicable IS codes.




- Measurement & Documentation
- Maintain daily progress reports, labour records, and site measurement sheets.
- Prepare concrete, reinforcement, and shuttering quantity statements.
- Record executed quantities and support RA bill preparation.
- Maintain inspection reports, pour cards, and site registers.
- Planning & Coordination
- Prepare daily and weekly work plans.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, QA/QC Engineer, Surveyor, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Monitor progress against project milestones and report delays or site hindrances.
- Ensure materials and equipment are available before scheduled activities.
- Safety
- Ensure PPE compliance and safe working practices.
- Monitor excavation safety, work at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, and work near water.
- Ensure protected access, barricading, and proper equipment operation.

Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret bridge structural drawings.
- Knowledge of RCC, reinforcement detailing, BBS, shuttering, and concreting.
- Working knowledge of surveying and levelling instruments.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and site reporting.
- Understanding of relevant IRC, MoRTH, and applicable IS specifications.
- Strong coordination, problem-solving, and site management skills.

Preferred Experience Experience in road bridges, RCC bridges, culverts, and infrastructure projects will be preferred.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
