ServiceNow Lead Developer

Location: Pune

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Lead Developer to lead hands-on development of ServiceNow solutions within our growing platform practice. The ideal candidate will translate architectural designs into working modules, including log-pattern detection, incident automation, workflows, and integrations with existing ServiceNow instances.

The role also involves guiding a small delivery team, including junior developers and interns, while ensuring development quality, coding standards, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead configuration and development across ITSM and ITOM/Event Management modules.
- Build and maintain integrations that ingest application and infrastructure audit logs and match them against known error patterns and abnormal-activity rules.
- Develop logic to identify existing related incidents and automatically create or update incidents with linked historical context, including root cause and resolution notes.
- Build workflows using Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, and Scripted REST APIs .
- Own sprint-level delivery by breaking down architecture into development tasks, assigning and reviewing work, and resolving technical blockers.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding and scripting standards established by the ServiceNow Architect.
- Support UAT, defect triage, and go-live activities and maintain technical documentation.
- Mentor junior developers and interns, including ServiceNow University-certified new hires.
- Participate in solutioning discussions and provide effort estimates for new features and use cases.




- Collaborate with the Architect and development team to ensure solutions follow defined architectural and technical standards.

Must-Have Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow development, including Glide API, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, and Flow Designer .
- Experience with Scripted REST APIs and third-party integrations, including authentication, MID Server, and Integration Hub spokes.
- Good working knowledge of ITSM , including Incident, Problem, and Change Management, with exposure to ITOM/Event Management .
- Experience working with CMDB relationships and querying , including GlideRecord and GlideAggregate.
- Experience leading or mentoring a small development team of approximately 2–4 members .
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across ServiceNow logs and integration payloads.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow development best practices and scripting standards.
- Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

- Experience integrating ServiceNow with log and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, ELK , or similar platforms.
- Exposure to ServiceNow AI capabilities such as Predictive Intelligence or ML-based text and log matching.
- Prior experience building a new ServiceNow module or offering rather than working only on BAU support.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Certifications Mandatory - CSA (Certified System Administrator)

Strongly Preferred

- CIS-ITSM Plus
- CTA (Certified Technical Architect)
