Role & responsibilities

Skills / Knowledge / Experience Must Have 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably in an environment that is current to Agile ways of working.

Must Have

Track record of coaching Product teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, with an ability to evidence delivery successes and overcoming obstacles.

Must Have

Significant understanding and hands-on experience of Agile methodologies.

Certified Scrum

Master (CSM) or other relevant Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, Certified Product Owner) are preferred.

Must Have

Servant leadership and facilitation skills to develop Product teams.

Must Have

Strong ability to arbitrate and resolve conflicts, promoting a collaborative team environment.

Must Have

Able to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their goals and deliver high-quality increments.

Must Have

Understanding of financial and resource constraints.

Must Have

Effective communicator that is able to influence key Business and IS stakeholders on the value of Agile practices.

Must Have

Strong understanding of Agile tools and software (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Must Have

Ability to coach junior Scrum Masters. Main Responsibilities (Give 6 to 8 main areas of work. State what is to be done to what - the end result e.g. Develop, agree and implement detailed sales plans to increase market share in Europe): Must Have Organises and facilitates key Product team ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews,



and Sprint Retrospectives Must Have Coaches the Product team to ensure ceremonies are effective, time-boxed, and all team members are actively participating.

Must Have Guides

Product teams (typically with low Agile maturity) through the application of Agile principles and best practices.

Must Have

Identifies and resolves obstacles to delivery and/or team performance (e.g., coordinating with stakeholders, resolving conflicts within the team).

Must Have

Promotes a safe and collaborative environment for the Product team to thrive in.

Must Have

Maintains, tracks, and reports on Product team progress, challenges, and changes; working with the Product Owner to resolve or improve Product team performance. This includes the maintenance of Product team artefacts (e.g., Burndown charts, Sprint backlog, time tracking).

Must Have

Supports the Product Owner in refining and maintaining the Product backlog (e.g., ensuring upcoming user stories are groomed).

Must Have

Proactively identifies and mitigates risks that may impact successful delivery (e.g., inter-Product dependent management).

Must Have

Provides coaching to junior Scrum Masters on the effective facilitation of team ceremonies.

Must Have

Acts as a subject matter expert on Agile methodologies and practices, often supporting in inducting Business and IS stakeholders into Agile ways of working.

Must Have

Ability to operate autonomously, requiring no or limited input from a peer or direct supervisor
