Senior PHP Developer (Agentic AI, LLM & MCP)

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior PHP Developer with strong hands-on expertise in PHP, CodeIgniter, Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

The ideal candidate should have experience developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable web applications, integrating AI-powered solutions, building intelligent agents, and implementing automation workflows. Strong knowledge of REST APIs, third-party integrations, GitLab, CI/CD, and modern AI development tools is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. PHP & Web Application Development

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable PHP applications using CodeIgniter.
- Build and integrate REST APIs, webhooks, payment gateways, and third-party services.
- Optimize application performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues and maintain existing applications.

2. Agentic AI & LLM Integration

- Design and develop intelligent AI agents capable of reasoning, tool calling, information retrieval, and workflow automation.
- Integrate LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and Llama into PHP applications.
- Implement prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and AI guardrails.
- Develop AI-powered assistants and automated business workflows.
- Monitor AI response quality, accuracy, latency, and API costs.

3. MCP & RAG Development

- Develop and integrate MCP servers, clients, and tools for AI-driven applications.
- Connect AI agents with databases, APIs, internal systems, and third-party platforms.




- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows using vector databases.
- Work with embeddings, semantic search, document indexing, and retrieval pipelines.
- Ensure secure access, authentication, authorization, and data protection.

4. GitLab, CI/CD & Deployment

- Manage source code using Git and GitLab, including branching, merging, and code reviews.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Deploy applications across development, staging, and production environments.
- Work with Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Docker, and Jenkins.
- Handle deployment monitoring, logging, backups, and rollback procedures.

5. Front-End Development & Quality Assurance

- Develop responsive interfaces using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and Bootstrap.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Follow secure coding practices and maintain technical documentation.
- Use Cursor AI or similar AI-assisted coding tools to improve development productivity.

- Knowledge of vector databases such as Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate, or Chroma.
- Experience with AI agent orchestration and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Familiarity with payment gateway integration and cloud-based deployments.
- Understanding of AI response evaluation, hallucination reduction, and cost optimization.

Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in PHP and CodeIgniter development.
- Practical experience building and deploying AI-powered applications.
- Good understanding of LLM APIs, Agentic AI architecture, MCP, and RAG.
- Experience managing production applications, API integrations, and deployments.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Ability to understand project requirements, estimate tasks, and deliver quality solutions within timelines.
