Espalier is a decision-intelligence platform for the environmental services industry — waste, water, and energy. Our core product is a proprietary industry graph covering demand and supply, M&A; activity, ownership structures, and market signals across hazardous, liquid, food-waste, and biosolids verticals. We serve operators, asset-based management companies, and private-equity firms.

THE ROLE

We are hiring Consultants and Senior Consultants into Gurgaon office to deliver strategy engagements for private equity firms and corporate clients in the Environmental Services sector.

You will work closely with an Engagement Manager, who is the primary client contact, and will own the analytical engine of the engagement — structuring the problem, building the fact base, running the analysis, and producing executive-grade deliverables. Our audiences are deal partners, operating partners, CEOs, and corporate development leads, and the work is expected to withstand that level of scrutiny.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

•

Structure ambiguous problems into testable hypotheses and a clear analytical plan, with Engagement Manager guidance.

•

Run market sizing, segmentation, competitive landscaping, and customer/volume analysis across the environmental services value chain.

•

Support commercial due diligence and growth strategy engagements for PE sponsors evaluating platforms and add-ons.

•

Build and refine acquisition target universes, screening criteria,



prioritization logic, target profiles, and market maps.

•

Conduct granular company, market, and financial analysis — market sizing, benchmarking, and synergy models.

•

Build and interrogate datasets from public filings, permits, procurement records, regulatory databases, and third-party sources.

•

Collaborate with our AI and data teams to automate research workflows and strengthen product intelligence.

•

Run primary research: expert calls, industry interviews, and channel checks.

•

Produce client-ready PowerPoint, Excel, and dashboard deliverables, and own their quality, accuracy, and timeliness end to end.

•

Partner with the Engagement Manager on scoping, work planning, and progress against the engagement timeline.

Desired skills & experience

- 2–6 years in core strategy consulting — a top-tier strategy firm, Big Four deal advisory practice, or specialist boutique
- Substantive M&A; and transaction experience — commercial due diligence, target screening, corporate development, or investment banking
- Solid data analytics: advanced Excel, dataset construction, and the judgment to spot when a number is wrong
- Proven delivery under deal timelines, including managing and reviewing junior team members’ work
- Executive-grade communication — comfortable structuring and defending an answer in front of a PE sponsor
