Job Overview

Octaga Green Power and Sugar Co. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and highly competent Senior Accountant who can independently manage the company's complete accounting operations, financial reporting, and finalisation of accounts. The candidate must have robust practical knowledge of Tally Prime, accounting standards, taxation, reconciliations, financial statements, and year-end closing procedures.

The ideal candidate should be capable of handling the entire accounting cycle independently, identifying discrepancies, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing accounts for audit and finalisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently manage complete accounting operations using Tally Prime.
- Handle the entire accounting cycle, from daily entries to monthly and annual closing.
- Finalise books of accounts, including the preparation of the Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance.
- Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and supporting reports.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor payments, customer collections, and outstanding balances.
- Perform bank reconciliation, party ledger reconciliation, intercompany reconciliation, and general ledger scrutiny.
- Review and verify sales, purchase, journal, payment, receipt, debit note, and credit note entries.
- Identify and rectify accounting discrepancies, incorrect postings, and unreconciled balances.




- Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation.
- Handle GST, TDS, TCS, and other applicable statutory accounting and compliance requirements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
- Manage expense provisions, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other year-end adjustment entries.
- Reconcile vendor and customer balances and follow up on long-pending outstanding amounts.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and internal teams during audits and financial reviews.
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents, ledger extracts, and other financial records.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with applicable accounting and statutory requirements.
- Support cash flow monitoring, expense analysis, budgeting, and financial planning as required.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of accounts.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Com, M.Com, CA Inter, or an equivalent relevant accounting qualification.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- Advanced practical knowledge of Tally Prime is mandatory.
- Proven experience in independently finalising accounts and preparing financial statements.




- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, ledger scrutiny, balance sheet preparation, and Profit & Loss finalisation.
- Thorough understanding of GST, TDS, TCS, and applicable statutory compliance.
- Strong expertise in bank reconciliation, party balance confirmation, and balance sheet schedules.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, financial reporting, and data analysis.
- Experience in audit preparation, year-end adjustments, and financial closing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile We are looking for a smart, detail-oriented, and technically strong accounting professional who can independently manage the company's complete accounts without depending on others for routine accounting work or finalisation.

The candidate must have hands-on experience in preparing and finalising financial statements, scrutinising ledgers, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that the books of accounts are accurate and audit-ready. Candidates with experience in manufacturing, distillery, sugar, or other industrial businesses will be preferred.

Work Location: As per company requirements

Salary: Negotiable, based on experience and expertise
